You've completely lost me.
So girls at work shouldn't worry about being murdered or beaten by their clients/managers (a real threat), because they might just get hit by a bus anyway (an unlikely occurance)?
I don't think we're in any disagreement about the parking weasels, but there's no way the 2 industries are comparible.
I started this by comparing a decision by government.
It has since expanded to even murder which you introduced.
I never said that the two industries were comparable. It was the decision to implement immediately a legality, versus the a well overdue decision regarding the control of the parking industry.
And that's it ?0 -
Unfortunately the parking thing isn't exactly a basic decision; there's been a consultation in progress and it's taking months. They need to balance the rights of the landowners with the rights of the public, and you can tell from the Beavis case that it's a very complex mess.
I'd love it if they outlawed it entirely, like clamping, but it wouldn't happen overnight.0 -
Prostitution has always been legal and it has always been taxed. HMRC don't exempt the self-employed from paying tax, after all, though prostitutes have historically not been able to claim for business expenses in the same way that other self-employed people can (this may have changed in recent years, I'm not familiar with current practice).peter_the_piper wrote: »I've no problems with the legalisation, they could then be taxed etc. Its been legal for ppc's to screw the public so why not them?
I think you will find if you talk to some prostitutes that HMRC insist they submit self-assessments, just like everyone else that is not on PAYE.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -

In a real world you are right but these women, over 60,879 in the uk according to the BBC, deal in cash, it's a black market so good luck to HMRC0 -
The earnings of prostitution has been taxed for many years including the use of Luncheon Vouchers to pay for it in one notable case I seem to recall but I'm not entirely sure that that renders prostitution legal. Are we talking England and Wales or some more enlightened part of the world?onomatopoeia99 wrote: »Prostitution has always been legal and it has always been taxed. My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0
