I think it's more likely traders expect exports to fall rather than rise. I also think sterling won't just bounce back and there'll be a big impact on living costs.

I'm wondering if those assuptions are for the short or long term?

    If long term:

Is this ignoring that items priced in sterling become cheaper to those using other currencies?

Is this also ignoring the removal of the EU common customs tariff on imports?

Who knows? Clapton argues the trade deficit has been ignored for years and the unexpected event of last Friday was the stimulus for sterling to be priced correctly.

I'd be interested in Generali's comments but he's currently on the naughty step.

no, didn't say that the currency is priced correctly just that a fall was inevitable.
This habit of being unthruthful, previously limited to 'leavers', is become more widespread.

I wasn't attempting to misrepresent what you said and given the context I'm not sure it matters overly but I should be more careful to state your position more carefully. If you've been offended I apologise.

The question was whether the market has priced the attractiveness of UK exports due to the decline of sterling into export expectations. Given your logic the trade deficit was ignored for a long period until an event triggered the inevitable fall (?) it's possible that plenty of other things are ignored - or not.

    I can't see it. I'd welcome anyone else's opinion.

Speaking about Douglas Carswell on LBC radio, Mr Farage said: “What would he know?”

”We find somebody inside our party who doesn't agree with anything the party stands for, it's a very odd state of affairs.“

The comments came in response to an attack on the party leader launched by Mr Carswell over Ukip’s controversial “Breaking Point” posters, which depicted large queues of refugees attempting to get into Europe.

Mr Carswell, a member of the official Vote Leave campaign, said he believed it was a “fundamentally wrong thing to do” on Mr Farage’s behalf. "Angry nativism does not win elections in this country", he added

I know so, two flats I was watching have been cut from £430000 to £400000.

A two bed flat at 13 times the average wage in London is still clearly overvalued. i wouldn't want to be buying at these prices, even with a £30k discount.

PS im not saying house prices have dropped 6% in London, im just saying the specific ones I have been look at in my area have.

Exactly! So it isn't what you originally said, which was:

'two bed flats are now about £30k cheaper in my area'.

It is quite possible that Brexit could reduce the price of property by even more than that, but as wotsthat said, 'not after only one week'. It remains to be seen what is going to happen.

In the area that I am familiar with (SW11), £400k for a 2 bed flat would be very cheap, they would have to be not particularly good ex-council flats to be priced so low.

With all of the infrastructure set up to work as an EU member state - I wonder what the cost in time and money of changing this infrastructure is going to be (ignoring other affects of leaving)? I feel that we would eventually get to a good place, but worry that it will take a couple of decades to get back to where we were.
To err is human, but it is against company policy.

The good news about Brexit gets better.

Europe does for another political career - Nigel Farage!

So of the three amigos, Boris, Farage and Gove, only Gove is left standing.
