It means I hope that when all this is said and done the people making decisions about how our money is spent, where it goes, how our children are educated, what funds we have to use for the NHS and even how we control our boarders are made by people we elect.

I genuinely hope that this means that we all can become united in that the remain camp and the leave camp can look forward together instead of this massive gaping divide which appears to causing so much trouble.( On both sides ).

This is probably true. We (collectively) had a democratic choice, and we made it. Now my own view on that is that we made the wrong choice for the wrong reasons, hence I voted against the majority.

But the reality now is the choice has been made, and we have to get on with it. Trying to find something that works for as many of us as possible going forward has to be the priority rather than continuing recriminations. I just wish that I had a clue what that was !

Less than 52% are currently happy, a lot of Leavers seem quite upset about the realisation of what they've done, and that they've been lied to.

Once the remaining Leavers realise that nothing will change about EU law or foreigners, the excrement will really hit the fan.

Let's hope that they throw said excrement at the right targets - Johnson, Farage, Gove and the rest of the Brexit mob who peddled so many lies.

    **BREAKING NEWS**

    We won't get a buffoon for a PM :)

True, we'll likely end up with Theresa May, and if so you can completely and utterly wave goodbye to any remaining Civil Liberies and any Privacy that you may have (particularly online).

Quite agree. Theresa May is the worst possible PM.
She's repeatedly advocated scrapping the human rights act
Made things illegal without scientific evidence
Deported people illegally based on hearsay evidence
Not to mention the fiasco about the asylum seeker's cat proves she doesn't check her facts
Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.

I don't want to be united with people who dislike immigrants.

Neither do I. I just like you want a better life for my family with stability in a safe environment where people are judged on their actions and nothing else. I hope and really do think that deep down we both want the same thing I think we just have different views on how leaving or staying in the Eu will help us all achieve it.
Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A

The sad thing is that, even after accounting for the above, she is probably still the best option of the five on offer! Worrying times indeed! :(

I fail to understand why the remain campaign never answered the question of how we were going to fund all the new schools, hospitals, housing etc when we are already in a climate of austerity. Why wasn't we give all the pros and cons in an unbiased way so that we could make a calculated decision without guessing. I am not sure but it stands to reason that EU workers would not pay much tax and NI due to the notorius low wages they are paid. I use the analogy that if you have a boat and you allow too many passengers then its going to sink. All will suffer but if you manage the passengers sensibly then you can throw a lifeline to those who need it. - thanks for reading!

    1. Because that question was never asked
    2. Neither did the leave campaign; they lied about the mythical £350m being spent on the NHS instead and then backpeddled by 7am the next morning.

A very good question. I assume because the leave campaign was based around lies, and no-one (including Boris Johnson) ever thought it would be successful.

the leave campaign was based around the question on the ballot paper.

Many lies were told by the leave campaign which of course were refuted by the remain side.

Sadly this is not uncommon in UK politics ; I recall parties saying they were against Uni fees, and I recall 'no plans to increase VAT' , I recall Blair promising a referendum on the EU

However the ballot question was fair and simple to understand.

People made a decision after the opportunity to hear all sides of the debate. Indeed including the US president, IMF, World Bank, BoE, CBI, Tusk, Junckers etc

    What is the problem?

Remain did explain but you were clearly not listening. The answer was along the lines that immigrants contributed taxes to the country and it is up to Government to provide sufficient services with those taxes.

You clearly believe that all EU immigrants are low paid and unskilled. You clearly do not know that many are well qualified and probably pay more taxes than you do.

So to use your analogy, you are running a cruise ship and it hits a wreck. Hundreds die because you did not provide life savers. Your defence is that these are austere times and you could only afford 90% of the required lifesavers.

Put it another way Austerity is responsible for poor services, not immigrants. Immigrants were just a convenient way of avoiding the issues and fomenting discontent with the EU.

When we Brexit, who will you blame then for the lack of housing and state of NHS?

You were but you believed politicians who told you that experts could not be trusted. I'm a car mechanic not an dentist but I could do you a really good deal with your next dental filling. What do dentists know about filling teeth anyway, its just polyfiller after all. The experts were quite clear about the consequences, as is your right you ignored them. We will all live with the consequences.
