That would be the same banking sector than was supposed to disappear if didn't join the Euro?
I've head Frankfurt is a depressing place.

Currently, it doesn't matter that that the UK doesn't use the Euro. Currencies exist outside of their borders. The problem arises if the UK can't maintain membership within the EEA.

It must be noted that the French and Germans did try take away that currency trading while we were full, fee-paying members of the EU. They apparently weren't happy that currencies exist outside their borders.

They implemented laws which attempted to force Euro currency trading to take place not in London but in the Eurozone. That's all while we were the second biggest net contributor to the EU project. After years of legal wrangling at untold expense, a court in Luxembourg sided with us for the time being. But the French and Germans were surely not going to stand for it forever.
This is everybody's fault but mine.

I wonder how all those US, Swiss and Japanese banks manage to operate throughout the EU... Nope, can't think how, we must be doomed.

Supposed to be going to Cardiff in a month with friends for a couple of nights. We've changed our plans now. Wales can get lost. They voted to leave. They're not having my money.

Cardiff voted remain so what is your beef with them?

We have sixty-four million British shoppers. We're accustomed to buying French wine, German cars, etc. There will be many companies in Europe keen to make sure they can continue to sell into Britain. The Norwegian and Swiss markets in that regard are comparatively small.[/QUOTE)

So buy British. Or anthing thats not German or French

Perhaps, but it's also possible that it will be the buying power of Britain which tips the negotiations in our favour.

Buy British (or anything else other than Europe)

Derby voted out by the way, so make sure you ask them to remove those Rolls Royce engines from the aircraft before you take off.

Eh no, I won't be buying British. I have been taken out of the EU
against my will. I will make a point of buying anything but British.

Soz for you when you lose your job. Who will come to your rescue then ? The germans ? I think not.
