On the same basis, will you be moving to Scotland or NI to live anytime soon?0 -
So am I, but not the way you'd want me to
I've booked my next trip to Zurich with Swiss rather than BA
.......and I'm binning my Spanish built Renault car I bought on a PCP deal and getting something else. The French finance minister is a nobber and has driven my custom away. I'll move on to his cheese and wine if he carries on giving it the large.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -

Doesn't free movement of people apply to non EU countries like Norway and Switzerland?Yes it does. And paying into the EU budget. And implementing EU law.
It's worth bearing in mind both countries have fewer than 9 million people and are the 19th (Switzerland) and 28th (Norway) biggest economies in the world. We have 64 million people and are the fifth biggest economy in the world. We will be, by far, the largest independent trading partner of the EU in Europe. This is everybody's fault but mine.0 -
Yes in Norway. Switzerland, maybe not. The people there exercised their democratic right to vote such a damaging system down. The EU of course won't let the people make such a decision, so the European project is working hard to inflict pain on the Swiss.
Switzerland doesn't directly have to implement EU law. Their access to the market is ensured by a serious of bilateral deals which codifies some of the EU law in Switzerland.

We don't have as much oil as Norway or Nazi gold as Switzerland. We could slip rapidly if we lose the banking sector."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0 -

That would be the same banking sector than was supposed to disappear if didn't join the Euro?
I've head Frankfurt is a depressing place.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -

We have sixty-four million British shoppers. We're accustomed to buying French wine, German cars, etc. There will be many companies in Europe keen to make sure they can continue to sell into Britain. The Norwegian and Swiss markets in that regard are comparatively small. This is everybody's fault but mine.0
