Mother taken advantage of and paying to much, can I cancel her holiday bookings?

Well after being on the phone for 25 minutes and spoken to Thomas Cook, they are going to refund the £800 difference based on their low price policy.
I was really hoping for some kind of consumer rights advice but I guess I'm on the wrong website.
Thanks for the help.
You got it, you have no right to a refund. You where told you can ask but they do not have to refund you.
Seeing as you where so quick to tell people and lie that thomas cook had ripped you mum off it might be worth giving them a bit of praise for being kind enough to offer a refund.
Shop around in future and dont incorrectly accuse someone of ripping you (r mother) off.0 -

No consumer rights were infringed so no consumer rights advice could be given.
It's a simple case of buyer beware, shop around.
People go to a travel agent as you can get it booked in 1 go.
No 1 was taken advantage of.0 -
I think Sainsbury's should offer me a refund on the Basa fish fillets I buy.
They sell the "Basics" branded ones for £2.09 for 400 grams and Aldi sell exactly the same one's from exactly the same source for £1.49 for 400 grams. The fish farmer is the same...why the price difference.
That's unfair what can I do?:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

*If my son posted that I'd been taken advantage of, because I'm in my late 60s, he'd get a clip round the ear . . :rotfl:0 -

Your mothers consumer rights were not breached. Do you go to Asda and argue about Tesco being 3p cheaper on the cornflakes too?0 -
I'll add that checking prices online myself before posting this I was getting quotes for £2000 so they are paying £800 over currently.
(Flights) Gotogate quoted: £1000.90
(Hotel) Venere quoted: £1078.65
GotoGate prices aren't usually live, and often don't even exist when it comes down to it. They're one shonky OTA.
She's only 67 and yet you think someones taken advantage of her? That's rather an insulting thing to say about your mother. Maybe even at her young age if you think she's not capable of booking herself you should have done it for her.
She hasn't been taken advantage of,and she has no consumer rights other than within the terms she agreed to when she booked. Just because you've got some possibly fictitious price elsewhere doesn't mean that increases her rights.
Are you even comparing like to like? Did your mother book a package through Thomas Cook, or even a flight plus, whereas you're getting quotes for 2 completely separate, unrelated and unprotected elements from 2 separate foreign companies, neither of which have English has the applicable law?0
