    Do you genuinely believe that there are no economic remedies available that could massively reduce unemployment in the southern EU countries?

    I'm very happy to discuss the failures of the UK due to political bigotry: what issues do you have in mind?

    Could be a fascinating subject but I was only really responding to the (imo) misguided notion expecting the EU to behave altruistically when their negotiating adversary won't be doing so.

    That's not a valid argument.

    No, but it's as valid as any of the stupid stuff posted by 'other' people.

    Once the temper tantrums in Brussels stop, the EU's negotiating stance will be commensurate with Merkel`s desire to keep on sending 20% of her nations car output our way.

    The EU says it does. Keep up.

    Oh well it must be true then.

    Once the foot stamping of the UK stops I expect both sides will eventually get on with negotiating. Until then, neither side will give anything away. But for most of the leave voters here the EU is going to be in the wrong in every case so I expect the nonsense arguments to continue.

    no no there will be no negotiation until we bow to their demands and invoke 50 and I know this because some great and wise sage told me so at 8:52 this morning.

    So I suppose there will be no negotiation until the EU bows to the UKs demands. The UK that has stuck our middle finger up at our partners and now foot stamps until it gets what it wants.

    I wonder what Gererali would think of these views of yours (leave voters). He may think they are idiotic.

    Not the

    "ungrateful UK" (like Spain);

    the vengeful, itching to make life miserable for a post-Brexit Britain (like France);

    the panicked, worrying about the imminent demise of the rest of the EU (such as Italy);

    the media divas/politicians without real influence (such as the president of the European Parliament or the foreign ministers of various countries including Germany) who hog the headlines, making unhelpful waves.

    Shows how interconnected Europe really is. Or should I say is not.
