So why did only 35% of under 25s vote?

Yet you blame the older generation? Good one.

I did try and help the young voters, I really did.

"Yes. You can go to Glastonbury still. Just take a picture of your voting card; box ticked; on your iPhone. Then post it on Facebook. I'm sure someone will understand what you want."

This is just more waffle (and other bakery produce) from the ToastMeister.

Older voters have always turned out in higher numbers than younger ones. The older voters now also massively outnumber younger voters.
    ...

Spare a thought for our Polish cousins.

Their young have deserted Poland in their hundreds of thousands, if not millions, leaving the elders to tend the land and vote for right wing government with barely any opposition.

We will probably never know why he so full of hatred but I'm sure some professional advice would help.

Come on toxic toastie : go see a doctor

It's just racism by another name.

If he spouted the same vitriol and hatred against people with a different colour skin or specific nationality he would be removed from the forum.
If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.

But you are rather missing the point, unsurprisingly. Older people have voted for a future for young people that the young people do not want, that is not in their interests, and the older people will not live to see. Largely, as far as I can see, due to an anger about immigration that isn't shared by many people outside of their own age group.

That's democracy unfortunately. Whats the alternative, disenfranchisement of the elderly?

I can't see any graphs dividing Leave and Remain votes along ethnic or religious lines. There are plenty of reports separating them into age demographics however, and a slew of articles about the same in the national press.

If you don't want to debate it then just ignore the link, but claiming that you are being discriminated against is a bit rich.

We are being taken out of the EU, mostly by older voters who wont be affected by the consequences.

When you walked into the ballot box on Thursday you made a decision that not only affected you, but everyone else in the UK. Now you have to live with that decision and justify why it was the right one, not only for you but for them.

I think we are all waiting.

You could ban postal voting, and put the polling stations at the top of really steep hills, on the top floor, with the lift broken.

Writing the referendum question only in Klingon would also help.

Age is a protected characteristic under equality legislation.

In fairness the OP was mostly pasted from the world's second most popular English language website.

Not the rantings of an isolated madman.

This is a very real issue that affects us all one way or another.
    FACT.

Hardly. Accusing (backed up by robust statistics) a privileged group of selfishness isn't quite the same as spewing out mindless Katie Hopkins style nonsense about parasitic vermin migrants etc.

People who are most opposed to political correctness will squeal the loudest as soon as they think they can use it to censor discussion based on their own behaviour.
