Up to 11 NSDs, not going to hit my target of 16 but still a new record for me, and since my last record was 7 it is really good for me.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

So Weds was a spend day as DD needed make up for her 'date' on Thurs.
Thurs was a small spend day as had a committee meeting in the evening and had 2 cokes, only £1.60 for both so a bargain.
Today has become a spend day as Jack Whitehall is coming to our local theatre and tickets are usually sold out - spent 30 minutes fighting with the website and eventually got 2 tickets = £65 (can be anniversary present which is Feb!!). As I have spent I brought some food for tea tonight.
Tomorrow was the party which would be expensive but which we weren't going to but now family have invited us to a BBQ so will need to get drink to take there but this is a normal BBQ (not a drink until you can't walk) so much preferable. Might get shopping from Lidl tomorrow as well as I have 3 x £5 off a £40 spend (all been in the Mail this week) and as it's the end of the month we have been paid and I can stock up.
That would then leave Sunday to become my 15th NSD to meet the challenge but not sure if I can do it!!
Good luck Turtles with the final push this weekend.0 -
Had a lovely time with my counsellor. Feel like I have shared the burden. I am going to limit time spent with mum to one weekly visit for a couple of hours - not sure I will get away with that and come home if useless noisy members of her partner's family turn up. Concentrate on the two things I have agreed to do for her updating her will and filling in the Power of Attorney forms.
She recognises that is a very difficult situation which I have little control over so protect my own well-being. I am using their service in the way it is intended, realised that my normal coping mechanisms are not enough atm and getting help and support before things get worse.
I am seeing the counsellor on Wednesday and will go to the crafts session afterwards - probably as a helper as a lot of the people have co-ordination problems due to differing abilities. This will be another 'social' thing to replace the history lectures over the summer months (replaced by child friendly activities). Just realised it is last Friday and film night is half over.
Fell asleep this afternoon and probably having an early night. Will find some 'tidying' activities so day is not a write off. Treating the pile of stuff on the drawers as reminders and will do 2 - 3 a day so I don't get overwhelmed (unpacked about 7 bags/ boxes this week - the 'bits' are the things that don't really have a home or belong in the categories created so far). Will review the month's goals and see if there is anything extra I can do this month.
If I wake up a bit more I will walk to the large SM which has the electical waste facility. Running may be off tonight as the 'youth' are already in situ on the car park and won't leave until 4 am or later.
Today I am grateful for my counsellor, for having a restful sleep and for my large cuddly cardigan. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

It was a spend day yesterday and today however tomorrow won't be! I've fell short of my target but it was just one of those months, and I don't say that lightly.
Next month looks a busy one with various social occasions planned. Although that sounds bad initially, it means I can budget around that and spend on days I know will be spendy days.
Thanks to all for the help and support for July. Looking forward to getting my teeth into August.
Congrats on your new job by the way Speky, thats great news:T" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Hi Turtles
So today I closed my old business and the last 4 years of my life are officially over. Its an odd feeling really. All for the best. And I can now pour 100% into the new. I am looking back a little and thinking of happier times, of the staff I had and the lovely days when all was well. However a saying I like is windscreens are bigger than rear view mirrors for a reason, so we can see where we are going
Converted an enquiry to a booking with £75 deposit recieved.
Juggled money around to cover Augusts bills.
Im flying solo this weekend as OH is going to support his Mum for the weekend with visiting poorly Dad in hospital.
Have a good one everyone .

Congratulations on the job speky
Well done on getting the support you need mothernerd. I know several people who have had to setup boundaries with their mums and although they've found it heartbreaking, like yourself they have needed to prioritise themselves as the relationships were quite negative ones. Hugs
Today was spendy, I've got quite a few social trips over the weekend and needed petrol and supplies. Also did some walking and got the electrics sortedLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Good luck with the new beginnings Bob! And congrats Speky
This month has not been great for me as I've eaten lots of junk and therefore bought itreally must try harder this month. Going to start leaving my purse at home!
My mum and partner are visiting this weekend so we are eating out twice, both places are lovely. I'm also going to get waxed and having lunch with a friend today but it's covered in my entertainment budget. Going to return a sports bra that didn't fit and collect mums Mother's bday pressie (must also get card!).
I was wide awake at 6am and am still lounging around in my pjs! Going to finish my coffee then go and give the kitchen inc fridge a really good clean! Just need to hoover downstairs then the whole house has been done!
Going to book Friday off work and do jobs like get the stair carpet ordered. Going to touch up the paint in the hall while I'm at it. Need to go up in loft and bring down all the old paint cans. Any with useable in will be listed for free if people want them and I'll take all unwanted and unusable back to my dads the following weekend and drop at their local tip as you cannot get rid of pain in my countyyou can bin them if they are dried out and I did remove the lid from some so they can go in the bin!
Looking forward to Augusts challenge and can't wait to get stuck in:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
Hi guys, just found out that there is a vegan food festival happening where I live tomorrow, so there's no way I won't be going and spending money, so unless for some reason I don't go I would like to end the month by saying I achieved 12 NSDs! 5 more than the last record I held!
I look forward to seeing you all on the August threadDebt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020
