mothernerd you are such an inspiration! I am sat here trying to convince myself to gloss the lounge windowsill, it was prepped a year ago and I have never got around to doing it. I need to take a leaf out of your book and just get on with it!

Mothernerd trying to fly at 1am, really I know why I love this thread and fit in so well. My arms go into vertical take off mode if I try to run as well. Laughing my head off at the image.

Good news the baby is fine, so cross though that they told us yesterday 2 holes in the heart. Another scan different hospital just on heart showed intact. Stress levels coming down now, after all worry.

Spent today, bday treats for dd,probably went bit overboard so no spending next few days for me.

Phew- another NSD at last. Now up to 15. Next month's challenge is being planned and should go live on Sat or Sun, depending on what time we get home.

Calling that is wonderful news. Thank goodness.

Mothernerd I am sorry to read how low you have been feeling. I loved reading how you had a splash in the puddles the other day. I hope you can carry on finding joy in those little things. I like fmess and the others am constantly impressed by your strength of character and energy. The work you've done to your home of late has been positively herculian! Huge hugs to you. Xx

Such good news about the baby. I wish they would be more careful with news like that, people can't help but panic which is not good for mum or baby.

I have an appointment with my counsellor at 10 am tomorrow, which probably means the doctor will have to wait so will carry on over the weekend, doing what I can, not getting stressed out (may still have to visit mum) and being kind to myself.

My tax credits renewal has gone through so that's a great relief. The most prominent part of the letter is the bright red "You could be fined up to £300 if you don't report a change within 30 days and up to £3000 if you give wrong information". So re-assuring isn't it. I have been idly speculating on the amount of scrutiny (and associated costs) applied to people at the bottom end of the income spectrum versus the likes of Philip Green (and the calls for corporations to only pay tax at 10%).

The remainder of the wood has been burnt as although it looked down to the ashes, it was still warm and the embers could be stirred back to life. Some things put away or re-located. Only 6 items out of the door today plus three armfuls of cut down creeper. Green bin is full but may wilt a bit so more can be added before collection day.

Just been to little Arseda and have 3 packs of multigrain wraps for 10p each, 2 low fat/cal salad dressing at 5p each and a salsa for 10p (added to spends). meant to go to the SM but too far and too late.

For new turtles 'portable rainbows' are things that make you happy the way that an unexpected rainbow can light up a gloomy day. I have several accoutrements which I don't wear all the time (today included beads, bangles, bracelet, lipstick and scent). I use them to help combat depression by reminding myself of the good things in life. For example when the bangles move up and down my arm, or jangle I think of something I am grateful for, something good that happened or just a special moment. Conentrating on the good/ happy bits (many times throughout the day) helps re-inforce the positve attitude.

Today I am grateful for my counsellor, Indian Head massage (not all the aches are gone but lots of knots and tension eased) and for reducing waste - the ash from 22 pieces of wood fits in the metal planter (24" x 8" x 8").
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

  • Mothernerd - Great idea about the portable rainbows.

It was a spend day yesterday and today however tomorrow won't be! I've fell short of my target but it was just one of those months, and I don't say that lightly.

Next month looks a busy one with various social occasions planned. Although that sounds bad initially, it means I can budget around that and spend on days I know will be spendy days.

Thanks to all for the help and support for July. Looking forward to getting my teeth into August.
