Hello everyone sorry I've been abesent been mad busy at work and moving but getting there I think! Not much to report with this months pay except it being 300 Ish short due to being on an emergency tax code
Have budgeted for food and fuel and paid chunks off both cards due to not being able to pay them last month and going over limit with fees. Any money I have left over at the end of the month wil go on the Tesco card.
I feel like I need to find a better way to budget but I don't know how

Hi Welly
You need to get a bit a head don't you. I'm sure it will all come good
Keep going0 -
Hello Welly - good luck with your budgeting. I found the only way for me to start was to sit and write everything down. I bought an A4 book and kept all my jottings and notes down in the one place - found it helped me to go back over the pages.
Anyway - I wrote down everything that I HAD to pay, e.,g. rent, electricity, insurance etc, then worked out what was coming in and with what was left.
Then checked what I needed to live - such as food, petrol (to get to work) etc with no amounts for fancy foods, takeaways, soft drink, biscuits, chips etc. Then worked out what was left.
It was an awful experience for me - but did mean I finally was faced with what I had to do.
Now I spend nothing that I don't have to and put every penny off my card. It means I have no 'extras' for anything and that is hard going, but I am determined that I will continue. The help I get from posting here and the comments from people are a boost when I feel it won't work.
So hang in there and start your budget. It's the starting that is the hardest.0 -
Thank you and again sorry for being so rubbish at updating this! I wrote a long reply but it deleted before it posted!
So am enjoying living with my aunt and uncle but I got an email today from the estate I used to live on and there is a property coming up to rent it may be no good but I am going to go and have a look. It's where I want to go back to..

They say everything happens for a reason right? So I'd discounted the flat as too big and expensive to run.. was looking last night on rightmove etc and there's a flat come up on a farm 2 miles out of town which would be perfect! It's 1 bed, council tax band A, 10 mins from work and a rent I would be able to afford! So I'm going to see it and see what happens..

Well I went to see the flat and it would be perfect. It's close to work (10 min drive), warm and efficient and out in the country enough that I would enjoy it.
I'm going to sit down this weekend and work out rough costings and see how much this would extend my debt free date by.

Just doing some sums for bills etc not going to leave me much to play with so really need to find an extra income from somewhere to get rid of the debt as that will free up more money per month. Car insurance is due at end of Jan so looking to get that down and phone contract ends in February so will go sim only.
The sticking point with the second job is the shift hours at my full time job make it difficult, I'm also exhausted all the time as my iron levels are really low and my job is really busy and physical so don't want to exhaust myself. However lambing season will be around again shortly so hoping to get some extra hours then.
All just ideas at the moment.
