re the other thread...

A thread started by MSE Martin to inform about links in sgnatures became a greater debate about referral links as a whole - and then wandered even further off topic.

As far as I can see the decision has been taken after a LOT of thought by the MSE team and the thread wasn't being constructive.

This thread is still on-topic and thus still open (even though in light of the decision it's a bit irrelevant now)

I'm not trying to prohibit debate - just keep things constructive and relevant

i kinda find this quite sad...i know im some1 who has links in my sig but its nice to get feedback i dont get many visits to my home site and just the other day someone messaged me about it who came from here i dont have much to gain from the links its just something ive done and if a couple of people drop by then so be it. im not using mse as an advertising space...if i wanted advertising i would look elsewhere...i think it should be kept as it was before...moderated signatures, i know that increases the load on the mse admin team but it leaves a bit of personallity on the site.
