I can not believe out supporters and activists are blamed for not having a plan - it is job of right government officials to have plan , not them ! The same officials that sabotaged any preparation for "leave". I am gobsmacked at rudeness and aggression coming from the losing side. I am saddened to listen to bbc putting a negative spin on the result. It looks to me like a ploy by establishment to get the result they want by hook or crook.
The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.

There absolutely should not be a second referendum. The !!!!wits like you that voted out should be forced to live with the consequences of what they did.

I might have a petition to ask the government to ignore your counter-petition.

For your information, the petition everyone is getting their knickers in a twist about was actually stated before the referendum by an anti-EU person. It's just so badly worded that the in-camp now believe it supports remain when in fact it's nonsensical.

For the less bright folks who can't spot the problem (apart from missing "on"), one of the votes (leave or remain) would always have to be less than 60%.

We the undersigned call upon HM Government to implement a rule that if the remain or leave vote is less than 60% based a turnout less than 75% there should be another referendum.

Holding a second referendum might sound ridiculous, but to me it's less ridiculous than wrecking the country on the basis of a small majority for Leave procured by lies and fraud.

Maybe. I have very grave doubts.

I personally wouldn't have minded a higher threshold being set for leave before the referendum given the gravity and likely permanence of the outcome. But it was a majority vote, and the consequences for democracy are more severe if it's ignored. In any event, ignoring it will likely result in a UKIP government in 2020, and I certainly don't want them negotiating our future.

I agree with both. Not matter how much I would have preferred Remain to win, people need to learn that actions have consequences - the country has voted out, it's not like a computer game where you can start again when you've f*cked up. Maybe now a few more people will actually think when asked to vote on something.

And yes there should have been threshold set beforehand - someone obviously had a brainfart.

If you set a threshold on a simple change / no change decision then you render a no change vote pointless.

I would rather see a threshold in place for a question like, do A or do B, with a threshold failure representing the status quo.

There absolutely should be a second referendum but not on the in/out EU question. The question should be in/out the single market. If we stay in then as a natural consequence we would accept free movement, EU laws and paying into the EU budget. Without another vote we could have a final agreement that leaves everybody feeling betrayed.
