  • Thank you, much appreciated.
  • I've just had the exact same issue and I cant believe how long this has been going on. Losing any hope I had of getting a refund after seeing that its happened to so many and for years.
I have a 40% staff discount with EE (I worked at Carphone Warehouse) So yes its bad that it took me 3 years to notice I was being charged- its racked up over £200 now and I am livid.
I get a response from a different member of their staff everytime and they pretty much say the same thing. I did get the opt out texts - but years ago in a fit of anger I replied to a stop text 10 times and was charged £2 per text (I didnt know that was possible and had a huge fight with EE over it)
I'm now in the process of waiting 14 days for their investigation to complete.
I wouldnt take the offer of £3.96 or the second offer a day later of £11.88 and after them sending me a list of every text reminder they've sent - dating back to 2015 as 'evidence' - I was beyond angry.
They dont bother reading your replies or explanations.. clearly they copy and paste most of their replies.
My most recent response was written in anger:

Clearly B games dont care about any of my replies and every member of staff says the same response. I get a response from a different person everytime I email- nobody even cares enough to follow through and help me.
I dont see how anyone with a slither of humanity will say £11 - something is a reasonable resolution.
I am beyond angry with my treatment and I will not let this drop.
I have already stated my reasons for not believing the opt out messages were genuine: i didnt know someone could charge my phonebill other than EE services themselves. EE have been very helpful with information and this has been going on a few months with them as i believed it to be their issue to begin with.
Stop insulting me with these "reasonable offers" I am not a teenager nor a child- I know when I'm being handled.

I dont care if this lasts years- when I know I'm in the right and havent subscribed or clicked on any banner nor 'play now' buttons.. how ridiculous that hundreds of people may be in the same situation unwittingly- and thats how your company makes its millions.
I will publish all correspondence and hope that I can shine a light to those who may be suffering as I am.

If anyone has advise for me- please reply.
Losing all hope and I hope someone smarter can step in and help me.
    Thanks
    Deanne

I'm surprised this is news to you as it's how CPW handles customer service.
  • Thanks so much for everyone on here that provided me with the help and guidance to try and get my money back.

Today I got a confirmation email to say that I would be getting a full refund of £260. It sucks that I had to send so many emails and then finally a letter but it paid off. Let’s just hope I get the money paid back shortly.

    Payforitsucks you’re a legend 😊

    Hi Simplysweet
It's good to hear that a refund might be possible with perseverance. I too am in a similar position currently in receipt of their second response and the measly offer of £11.88 refund(they have taken over £300 without my consent). Could you possible repost the letter you sent as I can't seem to access the original link.

I can't believe there are so many people with a similar complaint and this company can continue to operate under such immoral procedures.
  • I used pay for it sucks letter template above which is a page or two back. I can’t post the link as I’m a new member.

I altered it to suit my complaint better and it worked a treat.
  • I've just discovered an app called 'I Fitness' has been taking £3 a week from my account since last April (I stupidly ignored their messages as spam) now £147 out of pocket! I have never authorised any such payments.
Been onto O2 and they are attempting to recover the money BUT would not take any responsibility for 3rd party charges. Charges that they pay through MY phone bill, which comes from MY bank account!
So O2 say (although they are trying for a refund) basically it's not THEIR responsibility what comes out of my phone bill.
Be changing company when I get my refund.
Anyone else been stung by this?

And it's YOUR responsibility to check your bills and statements.

Yes I know that and hold my hands up, but my bills are so low I didn't bother, stupid I now realise.
Do you work for I Fitness YOU seem to be defending these companies?
