Did the 19.95 include line rental?
I got an offer of 45 for 100 BB, weekend phone and basic TV
Asked for it below 40 but no option0 -
So I've been out of contract for 4 months now. I'm paying £41.50 for 70mb & talk weekends. Phoned today - had an argument with the guy who flatly denied that VM do any better deals than what he was offering - and accused me of being rude - so I cancelled. He offered me 50mb and talk weekends for £33 on 18 month contact. I will wait to see if they call back. Just received cancellation email.0

I called almost 4 weeks ago to cancel BB and phone line, and they still have not called back. Its getting a little too close to comfort for the cut off date so might have to give in and call them back to cancel cancellation.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

Can anyone advise as I'm really struggling to get offered a good deal.
Im calling virgin and going through to the - 'thinking of leaving us' option, that's the retentions team right?
Package
- Vivid 150 broadband
- Phone more anytime
£53pm going to £56 in November
We were on vivid 100 broadband and got a free upgrade to vivid 150 a year ago we also have more anytime calls (no tv box - with sky) and pay £53pm got a letter to say it's going up to £56pm when I ring through to retentions and have tried 3-4 times now im told they don't offer vivid150 so am only offered to either downgrade my broadband back to vivid 100 - £51pm or upgrade to vivid 200 - £54pm
Any advice? If I say I want to cancel - will I be offered a better deal? And if I go through with actually cancelling, during the 30-day notice can I ring and cancel if I change my mind?
Thanks.0 -

Most people seem to get a call in a few days. I'm cancelling the same products so I'd be interested to see your outcome.0 -

It may be a little too close now, but it seems placing an order with another BB supplier can prompt them to offer the best deals as their port out team get involved (they get the request from BT or whoever which kicks them into action)..
It may be worth a call just to check when your BB will end as that gives them an opening - or say you have missed a call from them as their CS can send a message to outbound to call you.0 -

I am surprised people still ask the question - yes you have to give your cancellation notice to get the best deal. Phoning in to Thinking of leaving and saying you are thinking of cancelling may get a discount but it is likely an even better deal can be achieved by cancelling and waiting. The outbound Retentions team access different deals to inbound - so phone, give your notice and await the call. To up the stakes further (if your credit file can take it) apply to BT for BB so that Virgin get contacted for a phone number port out - that seems to be the third line team (port out) who have the best deals.
And yes you can always call back and cancel the cancellation if required.0 -
They called me two days after cancelling. Offered me 100mb & landline for £28. I said I would have to think about it. Don't see why I should be paying that when others are doing a deal for less from outbound.0

My contract is up this month – currently paying £55 for TV M+, 100 Mb, Talk weekends and Tivo. I called VM to cancel and a very scatty women went through what I could get. If I went with just freeview (which I wanted to do) and halved my BB to 50Mb then I would pay just £28 month. Considering the cheapest VM offer is £33 a month and BT £37 for an equivalent package, I agree to this very good deal.
A few hours later I got the email summing up my new deal and found it was too good to be true. The email had all the items I had selected but at a price for £40!! So, another call back to VM and I spoke to another person who didn’t believe what I had been sold. He went off to check it out and he got his manager to listen to my call recorded earlier! When he phone back he said it was a completely made up deal but they would honour it! He said he couldn’t send out any written confirmation of the price, but he would make sure the discounts were applied to my account.
Now, I’ve had the proper change of contract email sent through asking me to sign and it says the price is £40 again, rising to £48 after 12 months. It’s asking me to sign it, which I am reluctant to do as it is almost agreeing to the higher price. VM say they can’t confirm the £28 in writing, so what can I do!? Signing the contract at £40 to me could be used to override the price I’ve been quoted.0
