will try the whatsapp thanksMuckChucker said:
Whatsapp number (07305327112) is there on the right of the Reddit page - https://www.reddit.com/r/VirginMedia/. Just say anything in initial message, then the bot picks up and puts you through to CS after some basic questions, have account number to hand. So much more convenient than waiting on hold. They may not get back to you straight away but at least you can get on with your dayflipdu77on said:
Excuse my ignorance but how do I whatsapp them?MuckChucker said:
Anybody else in the house that you could sign up as a new customer????flipdu77on said:Hi Guys
Deal has just come to and end and phoned up to strip back the package. Offered mixit tv, 350mb and phone at £72pcm which I know is ridiculous.
Going to phone to cancel tonight but wondered if anyone had a ballpark figure for what they would EXPECT to pay for this.
Appreciate any help in advance.
ThanksI cancelled on Saturday - Whatsapp is a LOT more convenient than calling, by the way.
I've not yet decided between the two below, yeah VM cheaper but I do fancy the additional broadband speed and just a change of going with Sky. These deal are via topcashback - also both are bigger TV bundles than Mixit
I could sign the wife up as a new customer but it seems so long and I've confidently haggled them down before so just want to get it sorted in my name if possible.

Just had a call from retentions, the offer was a slight bump in bb bandwidth (which I argued previously that I should already be entitled to because of Volt, technically I'm only on M125) and to keep TNT for the for the massive discount of. . . .£1 more than I'm currently spending! I can drop TNT to save £8.
So in effect, Bigger Combo for £38. Once upon a time I may have taken that but there's better value out there as a new customer. . .even with VM themselves e.g. posted on previous page, £40.50 with £190 cashback.
That's a no thanks from me.

My current 'deal' is coming to an end. I was paying £29 per month for Virgin Mixit TV (With V6 TiVo box), M250 Broadband (Volt) and Virgin Phone (Talk Weekends).
Does anyone know what sort of price I am likely to get for the same package or maybe the same but with a slower internet speed ?
Thanks in advance0 -

Thank you - I've just called and put in notice to cancel. They offered me £37 for my current packagemits999 said:Virgin Mixit TV (With V6 TiVo box), M250 Broadband (Volt) and Virgin Phone (Talk Weekends). This package £25 tops after cancellation
When retentions call are they likely to offer the best price straight away or am I going to have to negotiate or tell them I'm not interested and to continue with the cancellation - will they then call back again with a better offer ?0 -
see my comment above. Retentions called and offered £46 in place of my current £45, down to £38 if we remove of TNT. The call ended kinda quickly after I said I can get a F+F deal for £31.50, she said she can only offer "what the system says" and can't match that. I expect another call before the end of the week. I'll make a decision Thu/FriBigBlueSky said:

What is this F&F deal that you mentioned ? - Is that something I would be able to get as an existing customer ?MuckChucker said:

When I spoke to Virgin yesterday they told me they put a block on a property from having a new account for 3 months in anyone's name. When I said I thought that an account was by the person and not a property he just continued saying they would refuse a new account.
Is this actually possible?0 -
I ended up with M250, Mega TV, Sky Sports HD & TNT for £65. Judging from what else I've seen in here.. that's about the very best. I got a bit lucky with TNT as I complained so much and they made an error which an external body would have ruled in my favour, but I don't think that's too bad as a returning customer. But it took a lot of hard work an lost hours.
Suspect I'll probably pack it in and hope there's better internet speed in my area in 18 months time.0 -

nope, cancel and sign back up under name of other adult in the house (if there is one). Alternatively use it as a bargaining tool0
