Well shopping is all done. Everything is wrapped and ready!
Had my eyes tested yesterday and had to have new glasses, not really budgeted for this but will dip into my savings if needed. I've had a pair of glasses plus a pair of sunglasses for £90 which I thought was pretty good.
I've been to a funeral today of an old school friend. She was 48. We were friends from primary school but hadn't really kept in touch apart from the odd Facebook post. It was very sad - standing room only! She leaves behind her husband and her 18 year old daughter.
Life is so short! Live it!0 -
So glad you're all ready Louby.
How sad about your old school friend. I really hate stories like this when young people leave behind young family. Reminders that we must live our life to the full... without adding to the debt of course

Thanks - we had a really lovely Christmas.
My brother visited, he lives in London and left on bad terms 2 years ago. My parents haven’t seen him since then although they have text and spoken on the phone. I’ve seen him many times when we’ve been in London.
His nephews and niece have all grown beyond recognition- they loved seeing him. He’s their fave uncle.
I feel really fat and bloated after over indulging quite a bit but DP bought me a new Fitbit which is fancier than my old one so it’s motivyed me to go out for 2 walks since Christmas Day and am off to the gym this morning.
I also spent £900 in the sales!!!! I bought a table and chairs for my new kitchen as we’re desperate for them. Also bought 2 comfy chairs for the seating area and a lamp. My kitchen is large and very echoey. It needs finishing off. I still need to paint one wall and buy blinds.
I’ve saved about £300 buying in the sales. I do have it saved but have shifted it to a 0% credit card and will pay it off as quick as I can. I know I shouldn’t add to my debt but at least it’s on 0% and controlled.
Trouble is the chairs aren’t coming until March........!0 -
Sounds like youve had a lovely Christmas Louby
.
Yay to the sale items! If you're looking for something totally best time to buy.
Hope the gym isn't too bad today!! xxMummytogirls x0 -
Feeling very accomplished today. Our new kitchen chairs arrived this morning which we put together like a factory line, me and DP were such a team! They look great. The table isn’t coming for another week so just managing with my old rickety one my mum bought from a charity shop 3 years ago until then.
The floor lamp also arrived and I love it. I also painted one feature wall in a fern green which matches the green splash back, I had to have it mixed in B & Q as it’s such an unusual colour. It looks really nice. Just the chairs to come now to put in the little seating area.
I’m now researching blinds and curtains but they are so expensive. I need to find some material and get my mums friend to make them for me otherwise it will be £450.
And in other news, all the chocolate has gone and the turkey in a pasta bake last night.
Cheese and biscuits tonight!0
