Honey I used to live a 35 minute drive across the city and it was a nightmare. I only moved because of the man I was seeing at the time. Most stupid (& expensive thing I ever did). I’ve been in my present house for just over 2 years after splitting with him in 2013. I love it.

Our new head is a nice guy and I keep reminding myself he’s never been a Headteacher before, he’s got to learn and he must be feeling like he’s juggling a million plates, he obviously wants to make our school a success and a good place to learn and work.

I’m willing to give him a chance. I’m feeling slightly under pressure but trying to keep my sensible head on. It’s not helped by training a student teacher who so far isn’t doing very well.

    Roll on half term.
  • That's a lot going on then all at once. I also have a new Head on her first headship but so far it's all been reassuring and wanting to make things even better, so quite aspirational and making you feel that you want to give as much as possible.

30 min drive here...I love the school but sometimes wish it was closer to home!

Busy week at work. Finally starting to feel better after a horrible cold and lingering cough.

    Very low spends this week

    Mon -NSD (5)
    Tues - NSD (6)
Wed - £10 cash for my nephews birthday
    Thur -NSD (7)
Fri - £20 meal out with friends
    £10 for my son
    £15 cash
    Sat - £11 Morrisons
    £ 56 Aldi
    Sun - NSD (8)

    Total = £122

Next week is also set to be a low spend week. We’re off to a local theatre production on Friday but tickets were bought at the beginning of September.

Then it’s half term and pay day plus a lunch out with friends, and 2 nights in London. Hotel and train already paid for just theatre tickets and meals to fork out for. Can’t wait!

    Phew it’s half term.

I started it off with an emergency visit to the dentist. Looks like I need a root canal but have to put up with horrendous toothache until the 1st November when they can fit me in. So I’m taking co codoamol.

So tired I can’t tell you. Don’t know if it’s lack of sleep, stress of work or my age! Probably all 3. DP and I went to the theatre last night to see my friend perform and we were both yawning loads.

So I’m glad it’s half term although I’ve got tons of school stuff to do.

So I was thinking of all I’ve achieved this year so far!

I finally paid my parents bask the £6500 they lent me in 2014.
My credit card debt stands at £300 and will be clear by Christmas
    I have saved for Christmas
I’ve paid my house and car insurance in full and am continuing to save for yearly bills

I’ve saved £2500 to put towards my kitchen
Turned my down stairs loo/shower room into a utility
Decorated and had new carpet in my youngest sons bedroom
    Totally refurbished the kitchen
Replaced the fence after it blew down in storm Doris

I have £700in my emergency fund

I’ve done loads and I’m so chuffed with myself

    It’s all about the budget
  • That's an amazing list of financial achievements -well done!

I'm with you on the tiredness levels...the last week of the half term always seems to drain the last dregs of energy! Hope you have a great half term.

I am in the most horrendous pain with my tooth. It is agony. I'm taking co-codamol every 4 hours and it's not making any difference. My cheekbone is hurting, right up into my temple.

We go to London on Wednesday till Friday lunchtime but the dentist can't fit me in until Tuesday 31st. I'm going to have to ring up tomorrow and beg them to see me again. I need a root canal.

    I hate toothache.

Moneywise it's been a good week

    Mon - £20 petrol
    Tues - NSD (9)
    wed - NSD (10)
    Thur - NSD (11)
    Fri - £30.10 Aldi
    £ 20.60 Dentist
    Sat - NSD (12)
    Sun - £17.46 school stuff

    = £88.16
  • Can you see a dentist on an emergency appointment? Is your face swollen? When I had to attend an emergency appointment facial swelling was the consideration for an emergency appointment.

It’s not swollen Honey, but the pain is excruciating - I had to stop taking the co-codamol yesterday, they were making me feel sick despite taking them with food, not to mention feeling totally spaced out on them.

I’ve slept but am still in agony. Every time I eat or drink anything the pain ramps up.
