Thanks to everyone that's stopped by to say hello !

This weekend has been very quiet, we've not done a lot. Food shopping, bit of washing & ironing, cleaning, visit to the gym and lots of tv! The weather has been horrible so perfect opportunity to stay in and rack up more NSD! Im up to 9!
  • Woohoo!! Well done on the NSD's. Putting me to shame.

    NSD #10 today!

Just looking back on my finances and I've done pretty well considering it's been Christmas and a 6 week month. I'm probably going to slightly dip into my overdraft by the weekend when I do my food shop but it's pay day next week so I'm fairly chuffed with the month.

I've paid for a hotel stay for March, a £30 oven part and £40 to my sons Playstation live account - all not budgeted for really.

I'm really starting to see this budgeting and counting the pennies work!
  • Well done you!

January is always a difficult month and you've done tremendous so far. Keep up the good work. What's your NSD target?

Had to nip to the supermarket last night so a £12 spend there. I reckon I could make 15 as my target...maybe more!

I've not been sleeping well at all the past couple of nights which is very unlike me. I hate not sleeping as my job is very stressful when you're not 100% - dealing with 30 five and six year olds means you have to be totally on the ball. Thankfully my very able PGCE student is doing more and more of the teaching - so that does ease the pressure slightly.

I'm feeling quite down just lately, I don't know if it's the time of year and the weather or uncertainty at work as our wonderful headteacher announced her retirement, she will leave us in July after 10 fantastic years. Anyone whose in teaching knows how crucial a good headteacher is. She's the best boss I've worked for in 21 years in education. We're also waiting for an Ofsted visit.

Anyway today is Wednesday and I only teach half a day.

    Enjoy your day everyone!
  • Morning Louby,

Sleep is hugely important and impacts all parts of life, which may be why you're feeling under the weather - coupled with some of the things you mentioned. It may be one for the weekend, but try to get a good long sleep. Prep for it during the day by trying some sort of exercise to exhaust you, don't eat or drink after 9pm, don't take phone/tablet/laptop to bed, etc.

Hope you get a better sleep tonight.

Nearly Friday. I slept much better last night. Looking forward to payday next Wednesday and cracking more debt!

No plans for the weekend! Just a spin class, food shop and the usual home type stuff!

Hope you manage a decent night sleep soon Louby.

Totally agree with the Headteacher having to be a good leader etc. Do you think anyone internal will apply and then hopefully things won't change too much?

Id only been in my job a couple of months when our new head came so id not got too comfy with the old head if you know what I mean ha xx

MTG our Deputy will apply but she's only been in the role for 2 years and is in her early 30's so don't know if that's what the governors want or someone more experienced. We are a small village school - it's a brilliant place to work, I love it. Our head has really made it what it is and we will all be very sad to see her go!

I slept last night - phew!! And it's Friday!!

Couple of spendy days. £43 on an Aldi shop and £20 on petrol.

Not a lot happening here this weekend. Been to the gym this morning. Washing. OH has made a ginormous cottage pie for tea. It's in the oven as I type and smells yum.

3 days to payday. I'm £70 overdrawn which I'm amazed at. In another life I'd be £500 overdrawn by this point in January. I'm really quite proud of myself. I have £1100 to go, plus my parents loan. In 7 months both will be gone.
