It's just too complicated for me and easier to put into the bank:rotfl::(.
I think the key is not to be owning shares in the banks as those shares have gone down.
Shares in banks are not a good idea (unless you got given them in the old carpet bagging days). I was really surprised when selling some of dad's shares how quick easy and cheap the dealing was. I must admit my mum is a shares person too. Her dad bought her some for her first birthday. Over the years the company kept merging with others, then the Falklands war happened and these birthday shares were actually West land helicopters. Did very well.
Dgd coming tomorrow for her first solo visit but come Monday I will start following the banking forum and learning.

Very true... and nice tiles!!:D:D
Not quite - with an SO you yourself set up a regular payment to another person/account. With a DD the person /account/company you are paying has to request the money from your bank and usually you have to fill in a form to give them permission to set the DD up. With the Tesco savings a/c you can set the DD up yourself by logging onto the tesco account and selecting 'pay money in'. It's very easy to do that.
I believe that the current accounts that pay reasonable interest do require DDs not SOS - I don't really know what difference it makes, in fact, I probably don't know what I am waffling on about !!, hopefully one of our financial wiz kids will Elsinore it all much better ( and more accurately)
Thanks I actually understood... for the first time x

Did you hear that even small houses are suppose to increase by £40,000 in the next 5 years... it is fab for owners, but  for people who want to buy x
I also love the silver figures... but have to admit pearls can be lovely (get both!!):D:D:D
I think houses will stabilise now. So much building in my small town currently various sites totalling 4000 houses and another with alot of flats.
That said I don't think prices will fall just stay stable. Interest rate is meant to be getting another slight decrease to keep market fluid. Not sure what is instore for the London market as in its own bubble. Never understood northern house prices as vary so much.

You're correct about northern house prices... they can double within a few hundred yards, and then drop again a few hundred yards the other way!100
