A few days off to gather thoughts and energy has almost worked but I'm going back to bed for an hour

HG good to see you home from your holiday, tell us more about Japan please. Belated Happy Birthday to Jasmine, she is looking well xx

I've not had a chance to go glitch shopping but there again, I'm not really in need as still have some JF and Aussie from the 'big' one :rotfl: and plenty from trialing and testing.

So, how us Mr TM doing? I think I'd hide his bike . I know how I feel when DS3 is racing, my heart is in my mouth and feeling very dry. Luckily he hasn't had a big spill since last year when a numpty rode into the side of him and sent bike and DS3 over handle bars, feet still in clips, over the grass verge and upside down in a ditch :eek:

He had a spare wheel with him so was able to get buckled wheel changed and carried on in agony to the end of race. I hate cycling as a sport

Enterprise, we've had rain too, the garden looks better for it and the bugs will be grateful too. We still could do with more if the wet stuff, if 'you' are listening 'up there' :cool:

TS, I have no idea how I've missed your big news, omg you must be so very proud of DD, a Dr in the house. Many congratulations to her and to you and Mr TS helping her reach her goal xx

Damn I missed the Mrs Banana last night....but glad she's keeping well,busy is never a bad thing but it would have been lovely to have a chat.

I've had a horrendous few days...my demons got the better of me on Wednesday and sadly poor DS took the brunt of my insecurities...yesterday we managed to put things onto a much more even keel,but I now can admit I treated him very badly and harshly over something that I chose to blow out of proportion and I'm not proud of what I did.
....But we move on,lesson learnt...at least I know that I still find some things very hard to deal with and resolving them to move forward will take me time...I was unfair.

Happy belated birthday to Dear Emerald.....hope it was a lovely day of being spoilt by everyone.

Hi LEJC I had a lovely birthday thank you . The weather was glorious had a nice free meal with my sister curtesy of The Beeches a local place. Presents and visits from all who care about me and to cap it all Nellie called round with a coffee cake

So we have had another eventful week with a lot of downs and a few ups.

Errant son went for his big interview on Tuesday - more of that in a bit

He had high hopes for this one - the location was good and the job description was perfect, similar to what he has been doing in Kent since last Summer. This company had got extra funding so it looked like they were taking on 4 new people and Errant son had only seen 3 other names in the visitors book.

And then inevitable on Thursday morning he got the email from them to say he had not been selected :mad: The feedback they gave was that the other candidates were more suitable and that Errant son did not have enough experience - even though he was a young leader with scouts and also did the DOE prog with ATC as an adult trainer all through college and uni, worked for 2 of the Uks (and overseas) biggest outdoor pursuits companies since finishing uni and also worked in Hk - but still not enough experience it seemed ...

So on Wednesday Errant son had a massive catch up day for paperwork including finishing his application for the job in the Lakes and he also emailed a company which technically was on his B list. He thought they had already filled the roles they needed back in April. This company is based only about 10 miles from us which was another reason they were on the B list.

First thing on Thursday morning he got a reply from their HR person with an application form to complete. They said there was one roll still available so as he was all caught up he tackled this application form straight away. In all it only took an hour as he has done forms before similar so it was all very straight forward.
By 11 the form had been sent off and he had got confirmation.
At 11.30 he got a call from HR, very long conversation and they also asking if he was available to come for an interview next Monday :T

He was so depressed about not getting the Tuesday job but he did exactly the right thing in not wallowing in misery and instead just getting on and tackling the next application.

I don't know if the company already had interviews lined up for Monday so it was a coincidence or if they have had trouble filling this last place so they have started seeing applicants again and were about to re advertise.

Anyway the job he is going to on Monday is based only about 10 miles from here, HR was a bit vague about salary which was worrying but the figure she gave was just about Ok but mostly because Errant son is very frugal. Probably Errant son would still live here for at least the first 6 months as its close enough to drive so at least he would not have living costs only extra fuel for the van.

Next week is all set up again as the temp agency has found him a local firm with variable hours so he can fit working days around the interviews etc, just got to do an hours induction on Saturday evening.

I hope you have more luck than me ! First there was a problem with their system so it wouldn't let me withdraw funds even though they were showing as payable. Then, once that was fixed and I applied for an M&S evoucher, there is no sign of it being issued even though its over two weeks. They promised it by 12 May at the latest. Every time I contact them I get a different person who asks the same questions over again- its as though they have no record of previous contacts. Absolutely useless.
