Yes, I think you're right (though I've not gone to the fridge to check lol:rotfl:) as it was Farmfoods 14 pack at £1 several months back that probably entered my mind and corrupted the data:D there when I meant to write "10". The 10 pack at 60p are, of course, better price per apple (though they are I think equivalent to 'fun' size, though you only consume one apple of any specific variety a day and each time you have an apple, you use a full apple). Glad there are other varieties of apple - if I manage to time it right, I could end up with several different varieties available to me that I need, of cheap apples, by still having many of the first variety in the fridge for some weeks whilst the other variety becomes stocked etc.

I guess I ought to explain - sorry for my lateness and not being here much of late - just too much else going on - a new bank account opened to get the switch money (which is now more than the interest on other accounts even if the account switched to gives no interest at all - and will therefore be promptly shut and moved just as soon as I can get the money). Anyway, too many new accounts and having to sort out transfers around this time. The M list is I think dying a slow death at the moment - I will go out at some point but just don't know when (probably sometime in June at the moment) - I was in just one store late last week to try to give me a further week, though it was incomplete information - but prices will be changing again tomorrow. I'm just not bothering much with it at the moment and although I had some Easter clearance items last week, they weren't any good (small bars of chocolate at 30p prices:eek:) - I suspect anything any good, like the big Easter eggs would either have been removed from the shelves or gone completely early last week. I'll eventually get through what I've got - as I'm just not doing much of it at all - and then I'll use online to try to update some of it - I won't do that until at least the middle of next week I suspect - probably wonder why I haven't used online all along (it's because I like to see the items are instore) and then just try to get closer to whatever next time I happen to do a mini-tour again. I haven't abandoned the list totally yet but I'm just putting it aside a lot at the moment.

I am sure you have spotted it, but double check the T&Cs of any switching offer as some of the banks have recently been introducing terms about you needing to stay X amount of time, otherwise they reserve the right to reclaim the switching fee.

Can I ask you all a favour?

Can you please think back to how old you were when you FIRST started walking to school on your own. How far it was and whether it was rural or in a built up area.

    Much appreciated:)

I walked when I was about 8, in a residential area with only little roads to cross.

My kids only walked from 11 when they moved to secondary school.

I know I am really upset. As if I don't have enough to deal with. Our neighbour is a builder and has a skip outside his house and he said it happened to him once and he found the address in the rubbish and took it and dumped it outside their house!

Although upsetting. This really isn't your problem. The insurers have paid for a skip that an unknown person has abused. Nothing to do with you, don't let them make it your issue.

    Thinking of snap's sister.

Did anyone else read the Tom Hardy story where he chased a young lad who had come of a motor bike after smashing into a car. He took chase and made a citizens arrest.

Can you imagine the look on that young lads face looking up to see Solomon from Peaky Blinders:rotfl:

I think I am going to seal a motor bike and ride it near his house.... with hope that he chases me, catches me and man handles me!

In fact, that's ridiculous - the total interest paid over the year (no tax deducted) for my linked savings account where you put £400 a month away at 4% was just over £103. (I know there's other accounts at 5% if you have a main product current account but just putting away what I can at best rates I can get as they only let you put so much away per month or in total.) So, switching to the Co-op for £110 switch 'bribe' pays more than a regular saver of 4% and hopefully I get that after 45 calendar days. The switches (unfortunately once you've done them that's it though) give more money than interest and it does not pay to keep money where it is. (And I haven't had to transfer anything like £5,000 to Co-op, in theory just enough to cover the DDs so still have money elsewhere gaining whatever interest I can but unfortunately some not gaining any interest at all for this temporary period until I can re-open accounts, put DDs back etc. if need be. The problem with Santander for me was that, unfortunately, because I'm on the cheapest energy deals etc., my bills were too low (great if you can get them like that) so it meant the cashback did *not* cover the monthly fee fully and the amount in the account was not up to worthwhile to keep the account at 1.5% but made more sense taking money and putting it elsewhere - with accounts at paltry 1%s, but we need at least 2% and probably more than that with inflation.)

Meanwhile, there's been a mix-up for me:( on the my year's savers - the 4% again (as still got more left beyond Co-op) is fine but the 2%:( account (having to go down to that having used the other option and this is temporary until I can open another account elsewhere, with DDs, after Co-op) has not worked - the payment went twice into the other saver and then one of them was reversed as too much transferred meaning I've missed out on the £250 to the 2% account this month. However, it has given me the opportunity to put the £250, which I can afford to lose, into shares and hopefully get far more back than any bank would give. I think shares are winning - over the longer term, they probably give more than a bank account - I do not give investment advice - but I shall see how my little dabble, starting off small, works out. I'm treating it as a gamble - a bit of fun I suppose though:eek: - I could lose but hopefully wait until it recovers - otherwise I could cash in for maybe far more than I put it if it suddenly rises during the day - I made a quick £250 from the Royal Mail when its shares were originally floated but, if I'd kept them for six months more rather than immediately cashing them in, I would have had far more.

Just popped to the house to check on it and have come home really upset. While we were away at the weekend and not checking on it someone came and put their burnt out kitchen, 4 doors, and an oven in the skip provided by the insurance company. The carpets and 1/2 the kitchen have not been removed yet and npw the skip is full. We even removed the dishwasher and tumble dryer from our house and put them to one side instead of putting them in so we could ask if we could dump them in there ( they were not damaged just old)
Interestingly enough a lady I was in the hotel with had a burnt out kitchen same weekend as my damage and I know they did not have it all insured. Suspicious?

I would try not to get too upset about it or start making accusations - could be pure coincidence. If the insurer and contractors are dealing with it, then they will deal with it - you cannot be responsible for this.

Good luck with getting your house back to normal.

There have been issues with the apgs/coupons ever since they changed their system.
If the apg does not scan, you could point out to the sa that it does say on the apg, where it states 'Checkout colleagues'......if voucher does not scan, process the value by using the manual coupon button.

they can also input the barcode like they would for a grocery item that would not scan.

A quick question if I may - I have to return a phone to 02 for a warranty repair, They have sent an r24 Royal Mail post paid pack but then say in the cover letter that it does not include compensation and they suggest paying for Special Delivery(!). RM 24 appears to include £100 compensation as standard, which would cover the purchase price - so do I really need to pay for an upgrade? And as it is a warranty repair, shouldn't they be paying for appropriate postage?

I know, £7 off for postage for peace of mind, but that is still £7!

    Many thanks
