I have managed to train most of the staff in my local A's, so that they know how to manually input apgs/coupons etc if the need arises :D
The staff on the self serve last week, told me that the system is being updated again, and they were hopeful that the issues regarding coupons etc would be resolved.....we shall see.
There is 2 assistants that are good and imput manually straight away, all the other sa's are cwap, and even if you suggest to them what to do, they have to call someone over who usually says no. apg's are ok, but other coupons they think you are stealing.

Yes they told me to come back if I got a fever or the shivers. I am seeing the nurse today to have my pneumonia jab ( cause of my TIA last year). I havent had a unrinary infection for ages.
Remember years ago when my son was between school and uni and he worked for an agency, They sent him to a cheese packing factory ( he lasted one day ), to a vanilla pod factory ( one day but he smelled lovely when he came home!) and then he did a job on a building site for my brother on one of the coldest days of the year ( one day again).
Made sure he studied hard at school and has a fab job, although he has been made redundant 2 times in last 5 years.
Hope he gets the job. Fingers crossed.
Got some extra jackets at the marathon last weekend and made nearly £200.00 on EBay yeaterday. Going into my new house fund!!

Did you get any of the t shirts they gave out to those whole completed the marathon, totally divine know my sister would have loved one but she was in charge of the starting line team this year and nowhere near the finish:(

Take care kidney infections are horrible (as are stones). Hope you are enjoying your temporary home.

Mhoc did you have a look at the fb sites I mentioned for kitchen budget makeovers. Might take your mind off things.

Can I ask you all a favour?

Can you please think back to how old you were when you FIRST started walking to school on your own. How far it was and whether it was rural or in a built up area.

    Much appreciated:)
I think I was about 7 or 8. Suburban rather than rural, but no major roads to cross. There was a lollipop lady on the one road which was a bit busy. Everyone went to the same school so there was generally someone to walk with.

I was 9 and it was about one third of a mile and involved crossing one busy main A road in a built-up area.

Before that we had to go by bus or car as school was about 4 miles away, and we lived in the middle of nowhere.

    Well done. :D

This evening I spotted an SA at the till of a smaller store paying for a large quantity of rtc packs of soft fruit - all nicely stacked up in a small vegetable box. :)

Rice Snaps 440g are rtc 50p in my Little A (were 3 for £3).

New packs are on the shelves ... reduced to 340g!

    Shrinkflation at its finest.

I know - I thought there was some manoeuvring going on (there always is with any supermarket). This is not just little As but superstores as well (subject to availability). I thought there was something happening with some of the own label cereals as they have disappeared online - thanks to whoever it was that mentioned Rice Snaps several days ago. I went to my big A yesterday and had them scan three different cereals for me as all were showing full price on the shelf. One of them, the Rice Snaps 440g, came back as 50p. I bought several in a shop with the big (only £5+) womble that I had (long story, I never got round to posting it). There was no APG back as I didn't buy enough items - just an 'essentials' shop of everything all right on A prices. I managed to come back with a £2.60 womble so later went to buy some more Rice Snaps. I thought I'd try the other big A this time, in case they had a range of cereals on the shelves that the other didn't have - they had nothing extra though (probably stood no chance as anything that may have been there was probably completely no trace if the SELs had been changed to RTC pricing). They had some Rice Snaps though, again showing 95p SEL. I even thought I may have managed to extend the date by a month on the new store's stock. No luck however as they scanned there at 95p:(. So I went back to the other A (not far away) and was able to buy at 50p there. That was when I discovered there were two different pack sizes and that I'd probably scanned the new version at the other store as there was only that one there. By this time it was late evening - I did consider only going back the following morning as the A with the 50p stock still had 95p price on the shelf, helpfully keeping the stock there for me. However, I noticed changes were already afoot as they were doing restocking at night and the SEL was now upended on the shelf - that's how things immediately vanish before I get back to the stores! So, I was right to get my further boxes last night, whilst I could - and it was then that I discovered that there did seem to be two different sizes.

Btw, there are (or were yesterday) a lot of 10p and 50p items on msm for Poundstretcher - looks like they are having a clearout too - although they have disappeared from Poundstretcher's site so it looks like I've missed them and, as usual, am now too late - I tried two Poundstretchers today (was supposed to be a third but it closed on me as we were late for tea so will try there tomorrow) - of course I had no luck at all, although I did notice it seems that one of the items was multipacks McCoys Cheddar & Onion at 20p (better than the recent glitch price at A btw:D) but they seem to have moved from a 6 pack to a 5 pack and of course the 5 packs, different flavours, are full price (showing that anyway). It also seems the Hula Hoops - did I see one of those on msm at 20p? - have moved from 7 pack to 6 pack - or are in the course of doing so. Again, the older bigger pack size is the one now on reduction (or missed on reduction and all cleared out a week before I noticed them), therefore making the new smaller pack size even more expensive on the full price.

    Evening Elite

I was working in charity shop this afternoon and popped into Asda and Tesco on way home. Sun on my way to shop, snow and sleet while I was there, rain as I left, and hailstones as I left Tesco to drive home  and boy is it cold

Big hugs to Snap and Sis :heart2::heart:
