I finished a full sized night cream from a famous shop last week which I was sent to test out. I looked it up it was February 2016 so allowing for holidays its lasted 10 months (big glass jar so it never went away with us) Shop price was £25 so quite good value then working out at £2.50 a month.
When it arrived it felt like I'd won a comp prize - I usually end up testing things that are Sada cheap and cheerfuls

Of course now I am emotionally attached to it so its still here inside its original cardboard box.

Worst still when I went through my stash I only had one other night cream and it was a bit dubious so that went out instead and now I am using a day cream as a night cream.

At the same time I went in search of cotton wool and found the last pack but a few more baby toiletries went into the food bank trolley.

Also the hand cream I was using ran out sadly, one that really seems to work but Ive got masses of sample locctaine tubes to work through so those will have to do for now.

So very slow progress but you just have to console yourself and think that by Christmas there will be a significant difference in stash levels

I'm currently testing a body oil that I gobsmacked to realise after a little googling was £58 and an extremely lovely pot of day cream which like your pot I think I will end up using very sparingly after the trial...it's £50!

hand cream is something I seem to have an everlasting supply of...I gave quite a few of the l'occitaine ones away, but I still think I have a stash that rivals our local shop at the moment.

It is a very slow process and I am hoping to reduce it all by the end of the year...last week I had a new batch of testing in which really pushed the figures up but it will keep me in luxuries for the best part of the year in the hope that I can also reduce some of the mundane stuff I have too.

I am considering a cull of some of the very old stuff so that is what I am trying to use up...I've found that a lot of the mini body lotions from l'occ have gone hard ans will not now come out of the pot so they may go,I think some of them may date back 6-7 years!
frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

    2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend

We are having a really stressed out morning.

Errant child got 3 days work from this agency but despite numerous calls on Friday and this morning they seemed incapable of sending him the details of where he has to go and what other details etc - they kept promising him a text but nothing came
He was supposed to start at 2 this afternoon.
Last week the agency rang twice and he agreed to 3 days because on 2 days he is helping Eldest son relocate.
He has now rung them yet again and they have changed their minds and now he is not doing any days

I wasn't keen on him doing this warehouse work as I knew he would be very bored, he has never worked indoors before, but at least it was something to tide him over.

His old landlord is being very slow in returning his old flat deposit so he is still owed that.
He still has expenses from his last job but HR say he has to go through his old boss who is refusing to talk to him.

And nothing new has come up yet on the specialist job site he uses

So we are not making much progress yet today ...

I keep meaning to ask who you test for as I think its a different place to mine.

I still get the odd thing from our lovely people north of the border, the pale people but these seem to be much rarer now.

Also after a very long time on the waiting list I do odd ones for things you put on your feet

    And a national magazine

At the mo I've got a hair product I am sure I did not ask for and I am not sure what I am going to do with it ...:D

the wine offer at Tesco has been extended to the 24th April.

According to my two nearest stores it hasn't been extended - the offer always did run to the 24th ! All the banners that they stuck up a few days ago have the 24th printed at the bottom - they pointed this out to me on Saturday when I asked if they would be getting any more stock in before the offer closed. They clearly though I was either visually impaired or just plain daft.

Actually I think its that I am just daft - I have wasted well over an hour - and had my DH also looking - searching for the charger for my hedge trimmer and my Karcher window cleaner ! They WERE in my little utility room but I had a big clear up in there a few weeks back and moved a lot of stuff around - and now I can't find them. Last week I was convinced I had run out of cooking oil and balsamic vinegar and bought 2 big bottles of each - and then found the stock of both which I had put in a different place ! I still can't find the washer or charger - common sense tells me they must be in the house not garage or shed as they are electrical and they must be somewhere easy to access.

    Good morning all :)

Has anyone seen any good deals on roadside assistance recently? tia

I got the full package from Green Flag recently for around £45 plus a £13.xx TCB refund. It was the best I could find and covers the lot apart from Europe and is linked to the car so DH is covered too.

My Aldi insisted that the offers change every 2 weeks - and the cauli, carrots etc offer doesn't start until next Thursday !
