I gave up all the soaps in 2006 as my New Years resolution. Now just need to give up the Daily Mail!! I get constant nagging from my family about it!0 -

Oooh, I missed that bit then. Was this when Toyah bumped into Peter leaving the flat in the evening? XxThere's no place like home

Please can I ask has anyone ever used trailfinders and any observations or opinions?
Eldest child is thinking of using them to book the honeymoon
My son works for TF
I will probably be biased here but they can be a little expensive but they certainly know what they are talking about and a tailor made holiday for your personal needs is right up their street. My son now works in the city (London) and although he is knowledgeable for all over the world he has got more personal experiences for Asia, having been to exotic wonderful destinations. as you probably read last week he/family have just come back from Thailand + Borneo, you name a destination he has possibly been. !!
PM me if you wish x0 -
Just been thinking about what someone said yesterday about having an over grown teenager in the house and trying to remember what strategies we employed to try and keep some sense of order and control, we had 3 teens all at the same time, it was just relentless and endless and exhausting and terrifying, never knowing what the next problem would be but we just ploughed onwards and muddled through one crisis or another - must have been doing something vaguely along the right lines as the two older ones seem to have come through it all as seemingly rounded well adjusted young adults and don't hate us ... cant see Errant son ever getting to the same stage ...“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. so Virgin trains have at three different Customer services/relationship/complaints departments but on the website only one email address is stated so customers have no idea who to address complaints to and end up being passed from one to the other.
I think I would be livid at this stage and using snail mail to complain about this confusion plus the original complaint - the idea of using email is that its instant and immediate and problems can be resolved very quickly but there is no point to using email if it just means your complaint gets passed around without even bring read“Life moves pretty fast. You are a star - I have sent you a PM
Eldest child did say what their budget was this morning but now I am wondering if that was a total or per person, either way it was a lot.
I did say Trialfinders was expensive but it will at least be a starting point for ideas
Eldest childs new OH has a very delicate constitution, probably stress related or something like IBS - not sure I would be as brave to go anywhere without mains plumbing“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Indeed. I've now had another 'holding' email just acknowledging my email and saying I will have a response within 20 days. 20 days??!!!
20 days OMG “Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
So yesterday Errant son came back from Newcastle and decided to wash his big van which at least kept him occupied but it involved a bit of mess - hose pipes, buckets, clothes, sponges, fold up steps etc
I did say to him though before we went out to do the big Aldi shop that he needed to clear up - mainly because he had a roll of kitchen paper strewn across the garden
Later on I did shoo him out of the study as he was loitering there - I was going onto the main computer to do the start of the month checks to see if bills had been paid etc and needed to concentrate. i did suggest as an activity he might do that he might want to collect his stuff up which was starting to colonise every flat surface including his toiletries in the en suite bathroom.
I know he is untidy so I keep my expectations low but at least once a day it does need tackling otherwise his stuff would be everywhere
All very low level stuff and nothing out of the ordinary
He then vanished just as dinner was being started - assume he went to his van - so eventually his dinner was put in a bowl and left in the oven for him for when he came back.
OH goes through to the kitchen and Errant son is boiling up a vat of spaghetti as he thought the bowl of pasta bake we had left him was not sufficient - mind you he vanished around the time he would have been asked as to how hungry he was and how much food to put out for him etc so how were we to know ...
Then a bit later I went to the kitchen to wash up and Errant son was still boiling spaghetti.
I noticed that Errant son had been in and out of the back door and he had unlocked it without locking it back up again.
My routine is that as I am usually the last in the kitchen - after dinner I wash up, clean up, feed the cats, sort out dessert or coffee etc and I always lock and bolt the back door. We live out in the sticks and anyone could walk in or out while we are watching TV etc so its for peace of mind that I lock up. I do it myself as I don't trust OH to do it and its what I've done for years. Often its locked before dinner.
So the back door is unlocked and I would not have noticed until bed time so I tell Errant son how annoyed I am that he unlocked and then left it and didn't bother locking again. He said it wasn't quite dark which it wasn't but that was irrelevant. He said he hadn't finished going in or out but at night we use the living room patio - mainly for letting cats in or out or coal fetching etc - no need to go into the kitchen. And its always been the same even when he was at uni and living at home.
I said my house, my rules, if I want to feel safe and secure in my own home the back door is locked after dinner etc
And then it all erupted
He had his dinner in his room, didn't come down for dessert which is still in the fridge.
Today he has been downstairs to the loo a few times and he took a bowl of cornflakes up but otherwise he has been skulking upstairs“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0
