do you grow stevia?
No i don't but would like to a but have no idea wwhere to get it or how to grow it.TrulyMadly wrote: »I had this romantic idea of swathes of herbs too rhos and I have a few different types of mint, sage, thyme etc and I'm really happy with them but I'm finished with chives:rotfl: Today I've planted parsley in a trough and watercress too:)
I've counted a couple of dozen volunteer potatoes today....potatoes left in from last year which I've just left to grow where they come up and I've found some tiny little holly bushes growing here and there which I'll nurture........hope they are female and I get berries:)
Is watercress easy it's another plant I would like to try . i am happy with the chives seeding as we use a lot, but the apple mint growing in the lawn is getting a pain. I keep digging it out and putting it in the fence and hedges .
Ds2 discovered a baby holly today to its only 1 inch highbut he is so pleased with it it came up in a large bottle on his window that he has a money plant in, . apparently he got the soil from compost bin which is under the big holly bush.

It's so easy rhos.....and makes one of my favourite soups.....will grow happily in a large pot too. The seeds are soooooooo tiny though:)
I discovered one of the holly bushes when I sat on it. I also decided to cut some of the rhubarb back and plonked myself down on this tiny little holly bush. We both came out of the encounter unscathedTo do is to be. Rousseau

It sort of feels a bit close to home as DH's mum, 81, still cycles into town once or twice a week. RIP.0 -
hi TM think the meal pouch things are 50p from the factory shop but they do other items like porridge, rice pots, mug shots, noodles, (20p?) it is mainly end of production over runs so it is random what they have in. but dh used to get dd1 some for her when she moved out, they kept her going till she went food shopping. think the pouches are ideal for quick meal and are ok for 50p0

Wow what a quick catch up. Hope everyone had the glorious weather we had here and they've been enjoying it  I slept all morning (as usual) then worked in charity shop 1.30 to 3.30 and a quick dash round local Tesco for three lots of Cinema products, my first. Did washing when I got back, dried no bother even though I didn't get last lot on line till 6. Did a bit of gardening ....... well I pulled the weeds out of the gravel out front :rotfl:rhosynbach wrote: »All my mint is in the ground have lots of different types. Si are my chives and lemon balm , i love that they take over and smell nice when you brush against them. And they help keep weeds down. And safe for grandkids who love picking smelly leaves. X
Oh I might try this for my back garden. When I got Noela, she was a digger, so I got my neighbour to turn over the small border around the paved garden, put laurel bushes in, plus a few lavender and small shrubs, fronted my a two foot wite mesh fence to keep dogs off. Well it might have stopped wonky legged Berry Bear and little Mille off the planted area, but Noela just started to hop over the fence, do her business there and DIG HOLES  She has stopped though as the soil area around the wire fence became overgrown with field grasses  while I was away. They are dying down now, though other weeds aren't, and I really need to try to clear them out, if I can manage. Perhaps underplanting with invasive herbs/plants might be best wayTrulyMadly wrote: »Unsure if you've picked up on it hg....Chris Boardmans mother killed in a cycling accident:o
