Changed our 'In' socket to a new one with a filter included. The old socket was at least 30 years old.
It is now a sticky out box socket.
He said BT should check with customers when they sell them Infinity that their sockets are updated. It should come in the package. As all they are doing after is having to go & change sockets when customers complain of the slowness afterwards.

Also he checked main box up road & a copper wire on our line was corroded & that has been replaced. So the ghastly crackle on line has disappeared

I'm absolutely whizzing along now, before it was so slow, I thought it was my laptop & bought a new one (unopened )

So no charge :T

Did he actually state there was no charge?

Make as many notes as you can about the visit, including the engjneer's name if you can recall it.

We have had a lot of our customers that have had their fingers burned by BT, they have called them out on a fault, the fault has been proved to be BT's, but they still try to charge.

With yours there should be absolutely no doubt. That is definitely down to BT but they may well still try it on.

One other thing, do you have any extension points? If you do have you tested them since the engineer's visit?

and on the plus side following on from a totally gob smacking eye watering credit card bill recently paid that send the excel chart crashing into oblivion - a combination of an expensive January - weekend in York, wedding clothes, new tyres, a few meals out, a big cattery bill and a coal bill etc

Thus months bill for spends in February needs a magnifying glass - OK we did have a couple of days out (spending very little) but the weather being so foul and having weekend guests meant we have not strayed very far.
I've also been using up some of the handbag flotsham and jetsam and it has made quite a difference - Marks gift cards, Pizza express gift cards, Nectar points, love2shop vouchers, John Lewis coffee vouchers plus the healthy amazon and Paypal balances have paid for a few things.
Plus no petrol or coal on this months bill.

We have just been doing circuits between Boots, the supermarkets and the post office and home and the only big items were a birthday present and the dental hygienist (we have healthshield so that's already been reimbursed)
Aside from these big 2 items we only spent £206 in February in real money:eek:

and the excel chart graph will have a chance to recover :T.

we are running on 9.75!Mb/s download - when we first went to fibre it was up to 23 but its settled at about 10 now

I ought to start keeping a chart in readiness for the annual discussion with sky as to how little they will let me pay.

But on normal broadband we rarely got above 2 so you have to be thankful for small improvements ...

Oooo fab thank you. I have been getting Ariel and fairy with my sharpies and apg vouchers but dd2's birthday coming up next month and she could do with a few 'smaller things'

Wombles for me yesterday were no good. All nil return, they were buying the Cadbury's Pots of Joy:mad:. However, they are N/A against W so they are other potential Sharpie fillers if anyone wants to buy them at £1:eek:.
