This is a very hard one - eldest child likes the citrus gins so they must be very on trend now if one of gifts is for someone very fashionable.
otherwise Ive seen gin in very fancy bottles and pink gin - good for very feminine people
There is a gin made on a very small scale in Macclesfield, if you can find this its highly recommended - for the life of me I cant think what its called now but the bottle is so decorative people keep them to use as vases when empty
We went to see the Lakes Distillery 2 years ago, really interesting place with a fabulous afternoon tea afterwards (groupon deal) but since then Ive seen their gin in Morrisons so its now main stream - you really want to get gins that are not available in supermarkets, something a bit more niche market

I use any lentils but like the red ones as its so colourful, in this recipe. With the peas . carrots and sweet potatoes. Xx
Nom nom Yes vegan cheese and cauliflower would make a crispy topping, I love base recipes which can be turned into so many different meals
another option a lovely mousaka with aubergines instead of sweet potatoes and a vegan cheese sauce0 -

Thank you, TM. I found a lovely pair of shoes which I actually needed (so often I go and look and come away). I'd hoped to try them on in store last night but they are an online only purchase so I am hoping they are as good in reality as they look online.0 -
And inevitably the annual rates bill arrived today
- up by £5 a month
There was a bit of a surprise with OHs wage slip this month, a salary increase.
but then after the increase in tax, national insurance and pension contributions, an increase in electric prices and house rates plus the annual and protracted tussle and wrangling with sky over the broadband package and Admiral over the multi car insurance in May I don't think there will be anything worth writing home about ....“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. morning I have same problem with BT can you please let me know who did you contact to get a some one round to sort it out thanks
Hi - we rang 150 & spoke to Richard in Swansea call centre -
We asked for them to come out as we are on Infinity yet our speed tests were under 6 :mad:
Richard checked speed too & agreed it wasn't right.
BT said they would charge us £129 if fault was ours.
Engineer came this morning, loads of texts & emails letting me know his whereabouts, even to when he knocked on the door
Lovely engineer.
Changed our 'In' socket to a new one with a filter included. The old socket was at least 30 years old.
It is now a sticky out box socket.
He said BT should check with customers when they sell them Infinity that their sockets are updated. It should come in the package. As all they are doing after is having to go & change sockets when customers complain of the slowness afterwards.
Also he checked main box up road & a copper wire on our line was corroded & that has been replaced. So the ghastly crackle on line has disappeared
I'm absolutely whizzing along now, before it was so slow, I thought it was my laptop & bought a new one (unopened)
So no charge :TOur Family Motto ~If all else fails - read the instructions...

But if anyone does have larger than they would like bills and has been thinking about bank accounts than Natwest rewards might be worth considering. I think there is another bank that does similar.
It pays 3% on 9 household bills - you have to check to see f it covers the companies you use but it does cover all household rates.
The snag is it has a £3 a month fee so you need to do your sums carefully to see if it would pay (and worth the effort of switching your DDs).
For instance if your bills come to £300 a month - £3600 a year then your annual reward is £108 and from this £36 in fees = £72.
Its money you have to spend anyway so its a small sweetener.
I know a lot of us have it so that the bills money goes out on the 1st of the month or as soon as the salary goes in so it never has a chance to earn any interest so its better than nothing.
as soon as you get £5 rewards then you can use it - various ways.
There is also a credit card that pays 1%
