MY OH is similar regarding Amazon but I thought we had got the obsession under control. By accident this morning when I was uploading receipts he got an email pop up and it seems like he has been being playing on Amazon again
Its similar to this - what on earth would he need one of these for and what is he going to do with it and where is he going to store it
I am going to have to play this with great calmness and tactics - ideally to get him to return it and get a refund.
Especially as I am not supposed to know about it.
But it does make a mockery of what I've been doing for days on end every week since last summer, doing a complete downsize of every nook and cranny in the house, filling no end of charity bags and bric a brac boxes, cloth recycling bags, endless paper and cardboard recycled, books for the Oxfam book bank. bags of things for food banks etc
OHs contribution is to sometimes give me one of his books to put on Amazon otherwise he has not let go of anything.
He has no military connections, does not collect coins, no US airforce connections except with an obsession with military history. We already have 2 big drawers in the desk full of his assorted bits, 2 man drawers in the kitchen, 2 deep bedside cabinet drawers, an ikea set of 9 drawers full of odds and sods, 3 drawers in the sideboard full of black wires, old phones and various remotes plus an entire cupboard in the living room and all of the floor space between it and behind the sofa, a blanket chest full of more black wires, plus whatever is in the loft and in the shed ...
He did ask me one what I would do with it all afterwards and I said straight into the bin, recyclables and all :rotfl:

DH, who doesn't know his debit from his credit card, having discovered Amazon, is now ordering like a man who has won the lottery, dear young neighbour needs to speak to me every hour about what is and what isn't (which is usually the case) happening, ex member of staff also needs to keep me updated about the new firm she is with, things I cleaned last week now need cleaning agin and the highlight of my day has been putting 'Fablon' on the shelf in the cupboard under the stairs!!!

We chose to have an inside cabin last time because we did not wish to be woken by the sun.I am very surprised that you have not investigated Fred Olsen. In 2018 summer - mostly April to October Balmoral is running from South Shields - they do little 5 day trips ( a bit easier to fit in with work, petsitters, childsitters etc) to Norway which are good for a first timer to try Fred Olsen.
Also saves the long trip down to Southampton plus the cost of the night before hotel and dinner etc
And Fred Olsen have their famous £15 a night all inclusive drinks package as well
b) I am fearful of the smaller ships in a way. Went on one before, and everything, even the bars were shutting at midnight, it was spot the person asleep in the bar every afternoon. But yes, I would give them a try from the Tyne if I can find a suitable one, I just havent yet.
As for balconys, I just need the fresh air in the room, if nothing else.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”
