My mention of those items at Wilko was a precursor to me mentioning about the M list - I was going to post this and then put the Wilkos info. at the end of the same post but then decided to post it sepearately as it was (and is) completely unrelated and it would probably get missed/skipped by those who saw M and thought 'I don't bother with M' and moved onto the next post.

Just to say that, apart from lots and lots of Cow & Gate and Heinz baby foods that are to be done as a separate project - there are a great many of them - an end is, finally, in sight as I have now updated 22nd February completely (excluding anything that I came across as already expired) and I'm now onto 3rd March - and I don't have much from there at all (in fact about 10 items:j).

I am not sure why it has taken so long and why it has been the longest updating time required yet. Whether it was because I have got three weeks of changes - having missed out those weeks before 22nd Feb. - or whether I got so much more because I visited 12 stores, or however many it was, over two days, I do not know. I nearly gave up completely at the beginning as there was just way too much to do! However, that would have defeated me and they haven't defeated me yet. I need to hide several of the pages at a time and cut them in half to make it look like there isn't much and to do it as bitesize chunks like that.

I think there was a lot of duplication as, because I had so many items, I didn't know what I already had and didn't have by later stores so I've had lots of items twice. Every item has to be individually checked, including trying to find its place in a seemingly ever-expanding list in order to delete it if it has expired. I also have to search through the list for each 'new' item in case it is already there or the price has changed, as well as checking competitors to see if they are better.

Although I had duplicates, I have got different items in a same range later on so have kept adding more variants of products and different products of the same brand onto the list. The carryover items from each store (those that were not found in the first, or the second, etc.) also required to be checked in case their prices had changed on 22nd February or to work out what conclusion I reached - requiring every one of the carryovers (particularly the larger number outstanding, obviously, from the first store) to be gone through - and then again when they were outstanding after the second or subsequent, if only to cross them out as updated. I don't mind - it's just something I do, on and off, in my leisure time.

I am glad I didn't give you my list of Nuby baby items that had gone to 50p RTC on my first day: I would have given you four of them only but I have ended up with twelve I think:rotfl: (five of which were only in one or other of my stores on the Thursday not Wednesday). Have I ended up with them all or has someone got some other Nuby item mentioned in their store? I think I still may have had some of the "Table Fun" (Valentine's Day) items missing that I do not know about obviously - I have had one that I have no price for, just left it as "TBC" as if I can now ever find it:rotfl: - I've found evidence of its existence online but unable to access the page as it appears to have gone and the Google cache seems to have disappeared as well - just a trace of the item name lingering around on the net if you do the right search:rotfl::rotfl:. It'll be 50p or 25p (probably the latter) I reckon if anyone can see it in their store. These items could well still be on a random RTC shelf even several months on from now - I still found some random Hallowe'en items on 22nd February, but I've no idea where much of the Christmas stock has now gone:rotfl::rotfl:. (Seems to have been taken away from the stores I've visited, as obviously their seasonal aisle is now changed - they are hoping it is gardening time (and I do too if the weather brightens up) - seasonal aisles currently seem to be filled with gardening items, many of which are higher priced that what I have had up to now! So, avoid the seasonal aisle! But I think you knew this already.)

As for the 'expanding' list, there are lots of items I haven't seen for ages and, really, think they have gone so I may do a big cull later. Items appear (reappear) months on though, so I could be deleting someone else's items from the list but some of these have been around so many times and back, having gone, come back, gone, come back, several times, and now been absent so long in the stores I've visited: they now seem (but I bet that's not true:rotfl::rotfl:) to have really gone by now. Then there's those that, after months of me having no trace, then get one hit on a random single occasion, months after they were first found, that sees them kept on the list for many months more when, really, I suspect they were just gone completely. The late trace of them, now itself a few months ago, brought them straight back to life but, really, maybe they were already at the end. You won't know, unless I happen to mention it specifically, when items have "come to life" for me since they just remain on the list continuously, whether I see them or not on any date, with me assuming that they are making trips around hundreds of stores that I haven't visited during all the time I have no trace of them* - or, possibly, appearing at stores I have visited but on dates/times when I haven't been there - they could pull the items out of the back and put a SEL up an hour after I've left a store with no trace.

I think the assumption that items are, often, still around may be justified as I do see items again, having lost them occasionally, and at unchanged price as they are just somewhere I happen to visit at the time I happen to be there. But, really, some of the RTCs must surely have cleared from everywhere now - except that I see RTC items sometimes appearing again a year later - or some of them, with BB dates, can effectively be treated as gone: for example, the festive Mr Kipling cakes must surely, by now, be up to their date if not already passed it so I have already deleted them.

Anyway, I think I might now either add those 10 remaining items from 3rd March (I did have a few more than that but have done some!) or I will return in the day tomorrow to do the 10, therefore goodnight for now!

*Obviously they are not, I suspect, "making trips" - I don't know that they transport stock from one store to another - but they are just where stock/SELs happen to be. It just feels like they make trips, as they go from one store then later appear in another, then go from there and etc... and, then, eventually, disappear altogether (or until a random hit months and months later, when they are just really not around elsewhere for me). Some items do linger in specific stores, that it seems to me are most probably gone from most other places.

Just attempting to go to bed but Treacle cat has insisted he nips out for 5 mins to drink some dirty puddle water in the garden first ...

Ive been trying to clear the magazine pile this evening but the Waitrose magazine with its receipes keeps distracting me.
I did though put all of the Christmas catalogues into recycling - :o - all my efforts at paper clearing and I still had Christmas catalogues in March :o

Checked FB and FB in all of its immense wisdom decided to put the photos I took on Saturday afternoon into a little video wittily entitled 'Saturday afternoon' on continual repeat with accompanying dramatic music. The photos were of the reduced shelf edge in Marks hard drink section :rotfl:

The M list does now seem largely in date but the odd item, that I haven't caught the expiry of, may still be on there so will just need to double-check any list you buy. Of course, it's all due to change again:rotfl:. Although, now, the main change is due after closing on Tuesday so I will hopefully find what's happened when I go to the stores on Wednesday. HTH.

Rustlers Flame Grilled Quarter Pounder (190g) (BC 5 099556 007477)£1.00 The stock may be back to the £2 stock now (on another BC).
Rustlers Flame Grilled Cheese Burger (162g) (BC 5 099556 016721)£1.00
[Strike]Rustlers Flame Grilled Chicken Sandwich (150g) (BC 5 099556 007491)£1.00[/Strike] I've only got £2 BC version in M at the moment.
Rustlers Hot Dog (146g) (BC 5099556 011023)£1.00 Now stock available at both prices (£2 on another BC) so risky again for TBG.
Rustlers Flame Grilled BBQ Rib (157g) (BC 5 099556 017865)£1.00 Higher priced BC stock could be gone now (3/3/17) so might work vs M. Tvs S as at 3/3/17.

In short, as of last week, the Quarter Pounder was going off (probably already gone off), the Cheese Burger was on, the Chicken Sandwich was off, the Hot Dog was risky (for TBG*) and the BBQ Rib was going on:rotfl:. I hope that removes any confusion.

TBG could do things a completely different way though:rotfl::rotfl:. They could have - at least for some of these items - only the £2 BC in T, as that's the price there, therefore, where M has £1, it's got a different BC to T and is therefore no trace:rotfl::rotfl: (although the BCs themselves do not carry any price information - for example, stock at different competitors can be different prices, obviously, even when they are on the same BC).

    * In M, you'd have to find £1 BC stock or a SEL/offer card of £1 against £2 stock allowing you to seek the £1 price.

Gosh- just seen the news and its 30years since The Herald Of Free Enterprise capsized in Zeebrugge- I remember that as if it were yesterday.
my dad at the time was a long distance lorry driver travelling to the continent 2 to 3 times a week, going from Harwich- Hook, Dover-Calais or Dover - Zeebrugge, That fateful Friday night he was on another route home but we didn't know until he reach Norfolk Saturday lunchtime that he was ok (no mobile phones then) he had had a long week and just use to drive when he reached the uk so he didn't know of the disaster. but he had sailed on The Herald the week before, so he was one of the lucky ones. He was very saddened at the time and I remember him shedding a few tears because he was a very frequent traveller he knew many of the crew especially the pursers who he use to give a bottle of spirits to and then they would give him a cabin so he could have a decent sleep...he never travelled that route again

    Wow, 30 years:eek:
We used to visit friends in Belgium and research the WW1 Battlefields so travelled that route regularly. We were actually on the Herald two days before the disaster and watched it on the news in Belgium. We managed to visit the bridge and met the Captain so it was very surreal:(

Been playing find the £10.00 note at Mum's this afternoon.
As the current ones or being replaced ( to polymer ones like the new £5 ) later this year I thought it was prudent to try and find any that Mum may have stashed and forgotten about.
Found rather a lot  funnily there is tons of paper work to be attended to, unfortunately she gets cross when I start to work on it and I have to stop, but didn't seem to mind this game :)

Plenty of time to play hide and seek the £10 note, new ones not being issued till September, and then you will still have a few months to spend the old ones :)
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it. :)

Yes, thanks, I know it's September, but always good to be one step ahead, especially with Mum's circumstances (ill health).
Also got to do the same for £1.00 coins, as won't be long before new fancy shaped ones are out.
Don't fancy having to cart loads of coins and notes to the Bank of England after the banks stop accepting them :(

Up for a little while. Noela barked to go out for a wee, came back in, I got into bed, she barked again, I let her out and have a look in lounge to see if she had been up to anything. Who knew that the feet of a sausage dog cloth door stop had a little bag of tiny stones/dust in them? Rest of dog is stuffed but the feet are granules of dirt. One sausage dog with three feet now and loads of dirt all over the floor  Brushed it up and then vacuumed and now back hurts so sitting having a drink of water and got heat pad on my back. When I go back to bed, Noela is coming too, and I am gonna close the lounge door ;)

    The joys of dogs :rotfl:
