Absolutely livid, DS just texted to say his train was cancelled tonight from London (pre booked). He has got on the next one and him and his friends are having to sit on floor between carriages as train fully booked ??? It's about 3 and a half hours journey xx
That's happened to me before...I went and sat in 1st class....no way was I paying £40 odd to sit on the floor....no sir!I've come across a 200 Norwegian kroner worth almost £20 . Where is the best place to exchange it please anyone know.
In a Norwegian bar !

A trio of items from Wilkos (although this was Friday just gone).
Febreze Car Clip On - Fruit Tropics or Ocean Mist 50p
Car Plan Blue Star De-icer Trigger 500ml 37p
Strange how none of these items appear to be on Wilko's website:rotfl:.
I now notice the Car Plan item has been reported on hotukdeals:
http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/carplan-bluestar-de-icer-reduced-48p-instore-wilko-s-market-drayton-2627029
I think the items listed there will therefore be 'national': I had more than one of them but not every one of them in my store. I only took details of the Blue Star trigger. The other items... weren't good enough price for me:wall::rotfl:.0 -
Cjj, silvercar is right. Delay repay should still be claimed. As the train was cancelled, it probably won't be automatic.

Gosh- just seen the news and its 30years since The Herald Of Free Enterprise capsized in Zeebrugge- I remember that as if it were yesterday.
my dad at the time was a long distance lorry driver travelling to the continent 2 to 3 times a week, going from Harwich- Hook, Dover-Calais or Dover - Zeebrugge, That fateful Friday night he was on another route home but we didn't know until he reach Norfolk Saturday lunchtime that he was ok (no mobile phones then) he had had a long week and just use to drive when he reached the uk so he didn't know of the disaster. but he had sailed on The Herald the week before, so he was one of the lucky ones. He was very saddened at the time and I remember him shedding a few tears because he was a very frequent traveller he knew many of the crew especially the pursers who he use to give a bottle of spirits to and then they would give him a cabin so he could have a decent sleep...he never travelled that route again
Yes, it's 1980s so it will be 30 years ago:eek:. The crucial detail though missing for me: did he know about the disaster when he arrived in Norfolk or did it take until he reached home several hours, or maybe days, later before learned of it? Were you able to contact him by landline when he arrived at Norfolk or how would he know to ring you once he got back to the UK if he didn't know?
It's filled in some details for me that has - I now have your dad arriving in Norfolk in my mind at the time I was watching the news back then. I once read a court report, obviously years after the event, and found that someone was vandalising a telephone box* in the Home Counties on the day I was born at near enough the same time as my birth - so, now, I have me arriving:):D:j:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T (to infinity:rotfl:) and someone vandalising a phone a hundred miles away at the same time:(.

The windscreen concentrated fluid was 40p as well earlier in the week. Pink liquid in a 1 litre bottle suitable for winter or summer according to the bottle..

Phew I've finished my work for today. Moved a console-type cabinet from bedroom (where it had TV on in front of window) into hall and it looks so much better there. TV now on chest of drawers on side wall, but should still be easily watchable there. If it was connected up that is, it never has been since it went into bedroom when I got larger TV for lounge in 2012
This work involved moving loads of clutter and two other drawer/shelving units in hall. Had to keep resting my knees and back, and have just cleared the remaining clutter from the bed so I can go to bed tonight
In fact I don't think it will be long before I am in bed and hopefully asleep as I've taken quite a few painkillers as I've gone along today :eek:Mr 3Dogs 3-7-12

My dad use to I think stop at Hatfield or Watford gap service station and ring through to his boss in Norfolk usually early morning on the Saturday and arrive back in Norfolk at lunchtime..so the boss rang us and told us he was on the way home but dad only heard snippets over the radio as reception was poor and it was also noisy in the cab, the boss didn't tell him the full extent of the disaster until he arrived safely home0 -
Been playing find the £10.00 note at Mum's this afternoon.
As the current ones or being replaced ( to polymer ones like the new £5 ) later this year I thought it was prudent to try and find any that Mum may have stashed and forgotten about.
Found rather a lot  funnily there is tons of paper work to be attended to, unfortunately she gets cross when I start to work on it and I have to stop, but didn't seem to mind this game0 -
