I had a little read back over the weekend, and notice that TM had the first drink of the year....

Have to ask what did it taste like....?
I've been doing the dry every other day thing and I am noticing a real difference....on the days I dont have a drink I have a hangover and on the days I have a drink,I'm enjoying it less and less to the extent that perhaps I sometimes struggle to drink a whole glass....which is very unlike me.

OH has a theory that its all to do with habit rather than the need to be drinking wine etc so has gone out and bought a bottle of bottle green cordial and now gives it to me in a wine glass on non drinking days....he is convinced its all about presentation rather than what you actually drink!

A friend of mine had a similar theory about food - she always set the table for every single meal, as she reckoned a properly set table always made you feel afterwards like you'd had something.

HG and all elite....something else worth doing is checking your state pension forecast. It will tell you what pension you will receive based on your current NIC's. You may think that you have sufficient working years to get the full pension but this might not be the case if you were contracted out for some of your working life. Again, this has been discussed on the pension forum, and they will be able to offer lots of advice, about buying extra years, how much it costs, against how much extra pension you will get each week. Its really interesting once you get your head around it all, and an opportunity to get your pensions in order prior to retirement.
Well thats an hour or two of my life I wont get back. Been trying to verify some account using my passport to get my pension forecast and it keeps throwing me out. Will try again later.
However, a few years ago when I lost my job and went to sign on JSA, first of all I was told I hadnt paid enough NI . However on enquiring again, it turned out I had paid enough. Job centre told me this was a common problem as if Gov.uk dont know what they are doing. Happened to me when I was expecting my son in 1987. First of all told I hadnt paid enough of something for stat maternity pay. I was in tears as desperately needed the money at that time. Took my OH to the benefit centre the next day, where it was confirmed that I had paid enough.

DO NOT GET THIS IF YOU ARE ON A DIET.

just got a tin, and they are the best biscuit ever. (well for a long time anyway)
well worth the £2 but dated end of feb. but ill be going back tomorrow for another 3 tins (must get paper) if they are still there.
tins look quite useful for future use.

in my store, they were on the end of biscuit aisle, top shelf

Anyone that feels they are having problems cutting down on drink, my OH use to drink a lot. He had to see a liver specialist as his liver results were coming back iffy. They put him on a high dose of vitamin B12 and B1. It did the trick. He has been tee total about 4 years now and his liver is ok. I never thought I would see the day he would give up drink. My mum used to like her wine too much too. I told her GP about this vitamin trick and she pooh poohed it and said she didnt believe it was that easy. I got some B1 and B12 from Amazon and yes it did the trick and she doesnt crave wine now. Still has the occasional glass but nothing like what she was consuming before. The liver specialist told me and OH that people that drink too much, the alcohol robs there body of B12 and B1 and this is what tells your brain you need alcohol. Also some people who drink too much dont eat properly.
Anyway, worth a try if anyone is having problems with alcohol.
    hth :)
