    :)

Off to meet my friends today - this month I have remembered :o

I'm now planning a visit to Surrey to Parents next week. So will need to get my train tickets also.
Funeral next Friday (24th) for friend's daughter. A nice colourful 'celebration' of her short life :)

Friend's Partner who was beaten up is doing well, it seems it wasn't a cash point mugging ... two sides to every story ;)

Sometimes we have to do things marginally out of our comfort zone and your new role sounds to be exactly that so I hope you get to relish the challenge.

The main thing is not too be too hard on yourself, if you feel pushed you will get stressed out

    Good morning all....

been a little deflated recently...nothing major but I seem to not be interacting as much with anyone as I should....hoping things will improve but I know I have a busy week this week which will again push me hard to the limit.

I have a slightly new pass time linked to the rental flats and my new role is proving to be a challenge but also a way to vent and let off steam in an effort to get things running much more smoothly in one of the complexes where we own a flat.
At the back end of last year I applied for a role which is non salaried but a challenge in order to improve the living environment and communal services....a bit like a board guide on the threads....I've had a few meetings with the management company of the complex and its clear there is plenty of work to do.

Whilst I'm not feeling my best at the moment I am hoping that this week will give me something to focus on ...so fingers crossed.

I have updated my toiletries for the week ....none in and 3 out although 2 were treat sized,One was full sized.....I had thought about giving mr shoes one more go this week before the voucher ends but then pulled myself into check, despite the locals being restocked with lots more lovely premium brands I now really have enough to last the year.

Frugal Feb is as well proving a challenge and once I add on the valentines stuff for tomorrow once bought I expect to break the budget for the month....It has actually seemed really hard to resist purchasing odd things this month...but also coupled with the need to buy basics, its just completely thrown me.
Might just put this month down to a blip and resume next...although maybe its a case that its just not sustainable month on month....

I watched the coverage of the BAFTA's this morning and was pleased to see the wonderful Ken Loach and his film I Daniel Blake has finally been recognised...we saw that last year and it had a real influence on how I thought about things going forward....I still think that anyone working in the service/benefits sector should watch it as part of training for their job....its thought provoking and I defy anyone to watch it and not be moved at least a little by the story.

I hope all is well with everyone...I've not really kept up but onwards and upwards to the new week x

Does anybody know if the £1 lunch on priority should be showing by now please?

Showing now, it seems to show after 10

    Try to stay positive! xx

I've not followed the frugal thing but isn't there a distinction between ordinary buys and buys which save money in the long run (like large packs of cheap tea or something) and also buys where you are banking money like mr Shoes' poo? (As long as you won't struggle to spend the points of course.)

My goal for the frugal was to keep within £40 per month for the 2 of us on food....so anything non food isnt counted...hence the fact I've given shoes a bashing this month.

I tend to just try and stick to a physical spend of money but will also include found wombles into the budget which has usually allowd me a spend once a week at A...I still have £7 or so in wombles for this month so maybe things are not quite as bad...it just seems that all the spending has been done in the first few weeks rather than gradually.

In fairness too there is quite a good stock of reduced meat in the freezer...I tend to shop at final reduction time on a Sunday for this and it has without doubt been the main reason that we have managed to keep frugal going since October, albeit with a December break clause!

I have struggled this month as basics ran out...coffee tea frozen veg and marmite!....

Any accumulation of points be that nectar whilst shopping in S or CC have just rolled onto the accounts and I plan to save them up for christmas or a larger purchase.

all in all its probably all averaging out it just feels that the physical spend of allocated money has been made this month with a few weeks to go
Whats the saying too many days left at the end of the money....
frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

    2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend

How can we get this cancelled, this is bound to stop DTD and I've done quite nicely out of it over the years :(
This got my heckles up a bit this morning when it was being so prominently discussed on bbc news....not once did they turn the story to the advantage of the customer and mention dtd.....

Has anyone found the Mountain Dew anywhere please? I'm taking drinks to a charity thing on Friday and it would be a good addition!

Just checking my nectar and I've got

1000 bonus points you must book your journey on the Virgin Trains West Coast mainline

did we decide if going from waverly to haymarket was def West coast and not east coast?

I can't work out if that is good for us or bad for us...
