    Here's a curious one....

Had to but paracetamol's today as we have all but run out...I used to chuck them in as a filler and am sure they used to be about 19p...this pack today was 50p....is that normal now for their pricing or was I just buying expensive in S....?
    Expensive. A & T normally start own brand at 30p a pack.

tweets you are so right. I've known people and read about people saying how their dog always know when they are unwell :A. It goes to show how loyal our canine friends can be. However, I put this down to the fact they live indoors as part of the family, you know, not left outside alone all day.

Even serious illness such as some cancers, dogs can tell , bless 'em xx

Bet your 2 grand dogs know when you are poorly.

I follow a thread on Facebook where an author's got an epi dog and only this weekend his dog had 5 fits and one of his other dogs told him by barking on 2 of the fits . He got 10 dogs in all . All rescue. I am waiting for his next book about one of his other dogs which is realised Valentines Day on Kindle its already pre-ordered :j
I've never actually dieted except for a few fad diets in the 70s (remember brown rice? and PLJ? ) And I'm far too lazy to exercise, although I am quite active.

DD's struggled with hers in the past though and I've often said to her if she just puts out on the worktop her 5-a-day, some oily fish, some yoghurt, a bit of cheese and some protein like chicken or cold meat - all the things you should have on most days - then by the time she's munched through that little lot, she'd feel too full to even think of eating rubbish.

I don't exercise apart from walking a lot. Never set foot in a gym I don't call SW a diet and you think I cant eat all that and lose weight but you do.

    Afternoon all.

Sory not able to catch up, witnessed an awful accident last night a young lad flipped his car, speeding with another car that disappeared. He was unconscious had to call ambulance and wait for police and fire, he was in a mess when they moved him, no seat belt on either. Down country lanes that a notorious for accidents by us, only 2 weeks ago someone done the same, no signs up to say a sharp bend, as so many accidents the keep taking the signs out.

    Hope all are ok xx

(((X))) Hope you are ok Sarah

Hope the driver was ok. But speeding a no no and racing with another car no no. Bet he knew who was in the other car

  • My day off and expecting a chilling day with coffees and El Colonel sides with Shamboo thrown in.

Yesterday evening my neighbour brought my attenshun two my gas, boiler gas not botty gas. No gas supply.

This morning got up and gas still off. Took 30 minutes to get through to right supply company, whole village cut off due to H2O ingress, which they are still digging holes to find. No time or date for getting it back on  . They turned off our individual house supplies at the meters overnight, but no letter or person called to let us know anything until 12:30

I have spoken to various customer service advisors and been promised a callback from 2 seperate [STRIKE]mingers [/STRIKE]managers, as yet nothing.

Anyhoos, have kept my whole street up to date, especially the elderly ones. Then found out about a custmer service point that has been set up in a car park which were issuing electric heaters and electric hobs. So door to door knocking and a list of streets requirements made and delivered personally to service point. I have been promised delivery in a few hours, Will chase them up at 5pm if nothing seen.
My naughty Elite head thought about Health & Safety of returning used equipment........ So encouraged everyone to make sure they asked for what they REALLY needed, not just one, same if they wanted a hob..... Next an innocent question to CA as I handed over list "Will the engineer who will call at house to turn gas on, also collect the heaters?" :A:A
Reply " No, you get to keep them" JACKPOT!!:D:D
Once supply returned I have promised to look into compensation for those of us affected.. :T

Good deed for the day, shame on the managers for not having better emergency planning, same for the local authority. Only a lone enginer with a letter has been to doors. RESPECT to engineers looking for problem, they are digging up most of the village industriously and CAs at car park very helpful.
Staff 10/10, managaers and executives 2/10.

I even visited the local shops and asked them to tell elderly customers about heaters and hobs being free, because they don't normally ask for things and struggle on.

AM sure I am in caffeine withdrawal, smartprice coffee beckoning :(

    Well done BH :T

Hope your gas is soon working.
  • 22 hours without gas, so now looking into compensation. It states on sgn.co.uk that for every 24 hours without gas you will receive £30 paid directly and automatically to you through your gas supplier.
Now wanting it to last a week :D:D:D

**** Who is that in the gloomy foggy night, creeping around the gas excavations??? They are filling the holes back up!!! *****

Pitfalls of walking your dog in a village, I've just been soaked :(

    (

Just been reading about that on STV news

Some young lads just think they are invincible. When we lived in Scotland, they would race on country roads, there was two different roads to another village one would set off in a clockwise direction and the other anti clockwise. One evening in November, our electric went off, turns out one of the cars had hit the electric pole (quite high up) so god knows what speed they were doing. One lad died and the other who was in my year at school was left in a vegetative state :(:( Sad to say a couple of years later another lad from the village also ended up in a wheelchair due to a car accident.
Something unexpected happened which made me smile and still continues to make me smile.
