Evening all. Bought a new-to-me sofa from the local face-ache page which was delivered by a man with a van today. Just managed to squeeze it through my front door but had to take the arms off first. Just waiting for dd to arrive to help me put them back on :o

Hope everyone is well, <<<hugs>>> to those not.

Damo - well done on the weight loss. It is a constant battle for me but have rejoined SW for the umpteenth time.

If anyone has only just finished the annual struggle with their tax return then it might be worth listening to this as next year it will be a quarterly event

- its a 7 min segment on Money Box live

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b08c0rfv

Imagine a world where you no longer have to submit an annual tax return...

Instead you'll have to do it digitally every three months. And from April 2018 it will be mandatory if you are self employed, VAT registered or a property landlord.

It's all part of the government's Making Tax Digital initiative designed to transform our tax system. So if you are one of the groups affected, how prepared are you? You can put your questions and comments to a panel of experts joining Adam Shaw on Wednesday 1st February from 3pm.

Call 03700 100 444 from 1pm to 3.30pm on Wednesday 1st or e-mail moneybox@bbc.co.uk now.

How does that align with the cutting red tape claims that this government were pushing?

It can be a pain doing it once a year, doing it 4 times is four times the admin no matter what they may claim. Also, how does it work with your annual accounts as you may have to be rolling profits and then losses between quarters (and if your accounting year doesn't match the tax year, that is another complication.)

Looks like I will have to read up on this :(.

Good Afternoon

I wonder if I may join in please, I have been a long long term lurker (back in the big a$da glitch days), but have found a bargain (just a little one though) that I wanted to share, hopefully its useful to someone.

I spotted in Sainsbugs (Edinburgh) that they had the 12 pack omega3 birds eye fish fingers for 53p

Welcome and thanks:D

tweets you are so right. I've known people and read about people saying how their dog always know when they are unwell :A. It goes to show how loyal our canine friends can be. However, I put this down to the fact they live indoors as part of the family, you know, not left outside alone all day.

Even serious illness such as some cancers, dogs can tell , bless 'em xx
My BIL's lack lab knew he was ill as he kept going to the same part all the time where the cancer was:A

Here's a curious one....

Had to but paracetamol's today as we have all but run out...I used to chuck them in as a filler and am sure they used to be about 19p...this pack today was 50p....is that normal now for their pricing or was I just buying expensive in S....?

Evening all! Been lurking for a while as been too tired after work to catch up properly. Enjoying my new job but it's already getting to be hard work keeping on top of everything in the house again. I really don't get how people find time to do everything, I'm clearly missing a trick :o

LEJC, I believe paracetamol is 19p in Lidl if that helps at all?

Saw the cheap sun cream. I've never done an A order, does it mean it will work instore? If I did an online order, is the price guaranteed or will it be whatever price/item they pick on the day? I need to find cheap Nivea factor 50 aerosols as we used loads last year, decimated my £2 Wilkos stash from 3 years ago!

ETA: missed my chance, sun creams were still working when I caught up last night but was unsure about doing an order, now they've been fixed, back up to £11 :(
