There is a reason for speed limits and research that shows that people are more likely to be killed if someone is travelling faster, even though I know how irksome it sometimes it is comply with them and to be going along at 30 when it seems really slow. In fact, I think most people are incapable of complying with the speed limit as no-one else ever seems to slow down for 30 mph signs on slip roads but sails through at 40 and over. This actually makes it dangerous for me to comply with the speed limit, but the danger is caused by what seems to me entire rest of the world showing no evidence that they even noticed the signs (people generally fail to notice things that I spot) let alone ever complying with them. However, it works both ways: irritatingly! People will travel at 40 when the limit is back at 60 and then be speeding once the 30 sign, that they seem oblivious to, is up - and even repeated signage does not seem to alert most people. They want to do 40, whenever they are.

As regards your mother's opinion, I suggest the following appeoach (though not really). Namely, do something that she dislikes and then reply by telling her it was not really what she thought it was. I am sure that then, all of a sudden and magically, the boot will somehow immediately move to the other foot. It always does. Thus showing how wrong she is!

Savvy i have to say if its 30, i go 30, ifs its 40 i go 40 etc;)

I left that job after Christmas 2015 I really miss working nights, would love to go back to it

I like H&S as I do get a dry scalp, but don't buy it often as my stash of poos needs using up. So I will enjoy this one. I think H&S has come a long way from what it used to be like much gentler now.

Want to give DD1 some samples but not sure when the project ends, I only went up the other weekend so not sure when I will see her again.

I think there should be a thread for people who want to sound off about elderly parents. I once Googled 'I want to kill my Mum' and to my horror discovered sites which took that rather literally!!

Some people suit working nights, Mr TS's aunt and uncle did for years, completely different jobs.

Is it worth asking dip, would there be anything lost if you did. Sorry to hear you are struggling through. xx

Eldest son didn't get the postings he requested, terrible mess up whereby they lost his paperwork so he had to submit again. He has ended up with just about the worst posting possible - well the base and people and work are good but the location not - fortunately the start date is movable and he may have to take other courses but it could be July.

Oh dear mhoc, Wattisham isn't that bad, it's been good enough for Royalty you know. It is out of the way :cool: very attractive and nicely secluded but always been a good base.

Maybe he can appeal and get another posting, last minute sort of thing. If that's definitely where he's going and you come down to visit him, maybe we could meet and have a coffee. You'll have to let me know xx
