As has been mentioned previously TSB drops their interest rate from 3% to 1.5% today and only up to £1500 from £2000.
if any one has a empty Nationwide account like me, (I used it for a year for the 5% rate but then they dropped their rates to 1%) it may be worth transferring your excess £500 from TSB to NW.
I've done this with both my TSB accounts this morning until I can set up another decent paying account...just an idea rather than have zero interest in the interim
Spent quite a long time this morning looking at banks/savings accounts. Nothing to fire the imagination!
But yes, like you, shifting the excess £500 out of TSB today.
Also thinking of switching bank accounts next week, after the majority of this months DD's have been paid. First direct I think, will be getting my custom:money: gives you an extra £25 in addition to the usual £100 for switching if you go through the :money:link.

I have been rather hoping I would get a call, would quiz him on what window company he was calling from .........
I actually did this the other week, can't remember exactly what I asked something along the lines of what sort of windows he was selling to making him think I thought it was glass windows and the phone was put down straight away.0 -

Yes I put an auto transfer on my TSB account for today - going along in a bit to check that its done
Ive stopped using my TSB for contactless now it is no longer paying me £5 a month
Have a look at the less well known building societies like Principlality and Leeds BS - Ive got monthly savers with both of these and I think they have bonds and ISAs - all can be done online.
Ive also got Tesco bank on the list to investigate - up to £???? in a current account will give you ?% - might be somewhere to put the excess TSB
I am gearing myself up to buy premium bonds - Ive only ever done this once before decades ago at the post office ...“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Tesco bank account gives 3% on £3000 at the moment, but it is variable, so could change. Although, they didn't reduce the rate when all the others did. So maybe now they won't? No requirements to pay anything in monthly, and no DD's required. The mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work unless it's open0 -

An update to last years spread sheets where I record the value of free items and vouchers received(found apg's and odd bits and bobs, TMF etc) .....total for the year 2016.... £2356.75....I was aiming for £200 per month so just slightly under that so will now zero back for this year and start again.
Have to say I continue to be surprised how the value of it all soon mounts up.
Also had a heads up PM overnight about T white mysteries(thank you kind wine angel xx)....they are still in stock this morning so just wondering should I give it a go or pass till the next lot when we will be out of wine....
I've just rejigged this year's spreadsheet so that I can also track the freebies element too0 -

Brilliant worth getting.
We removed the paper from every room in our house, the paper is the easy part to remove, the difficulty is getting rid of all the slimey paste thats left on the walls! :mad:curl girl with a space - even though there is no space in my cupboard!!!0
