Thanks for the well wishes :j p.s. that is NOT me jumping up and down ;)

Thanks and to others who recommended arnica - I'll have to get some in as I always seem to have a bruise or too :o

I wish Enterprise :rotfl: though I did have an Old Mout afterwards, to ease the pain ;)

Sorry MKS I did mean to comment on this but mustn't have ticked it. Sorry to hear what is going on around you at moment, my thoughts are with you. My Big Sis went to doc about a changing mole on her back and the doc said they would remove it and check it (it was early cancer but should be OK now) but at same time said that lump on her nose was definitely cancerous. She had badly grazed her nose in the 70's and every summer in the sun, it would come right up. Her grandchildren called her Nanny McG. But she never thought of it as cancerous. Cue surgery to remove all the lump right around tip of her nose and surrounding tissue, with skin slit up each side , loadof her nose and lots of tiny stitches to lessen scarring, hopefully got it all. Lots of repeat visits to hospital to follow

I so agree with you on the ELITE, they are amazing :iloveyou:

Sorry to hear about your sister, hope things go well for her healing. Enjoy New Year, I will only allow myself 2 glasses of something fuzzy, because of my meds I can't drink like a fish anymore :o :rotfl:
Hope you are looking after your back.

I missed you having your operation, what did you have done?

Yes you did miss my operation, because I didn't know you then :rotfl: :rotfl: it was many many years ago. They did a manipulation and stretch and removed something, I forget now what :rotfl: :o. All I know is if I don't behave the doc says I'll be going in to have the same procedure and I don't want that done again 'cos it hurt even though I did have a general anisthetic
There's no place like home :)

Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.

I think we need to grow backbones and before we go anywhere we have to state our case - say to our nearest and dearest, if you want to choose where we eat then you can also pay the bill :D

I think I am going to start a spreadsheet of the cost of the kids (except the free food/lodgings, running DS2 car and paying his uni fees.... as that would just depress me!). and see what the total is at the end of the year.

Would the operation give you more freedom? Better standard of life? Then again I would avoid an operation at all costs.... so look after your back x

Good morning, good afternoon and good evening locarr, just incase I miss you later. Hope you've had a great Christmas with the family xx

The art is to work out how many boxes you normally use in say 9 months or 1 year and only buy that amount, then no waste. Such a shame after you'd saved by buying them then wasted. Good luck with KonMarie :)

I realised last night what everyone was on about and forget to say that I'd had an email and replied the following day.

I got a response back, to say that they'd noticed I'd won twice in one day, therefore I wouldn't get the £10 for that win  I'm sure I only played once on phone and once on iPad a day.

Oh well, I've still got £50 in my Amazon account :D

Thank you - did you enter the same details in error to claim or different details? No reply from a few weeks ago when Mrs Anon won (before realising the delete repeat trick). No reply for another family member from earlier this week.

Between the Anon family who played, won and claimed, we had 3 vouchers that said they had already been redeemed on another account :( and 2 that haven't arrived.

Given your response we are not sure whether to just write them off or follow up? We were quite lucky in the end and did cash in "a few" ;).

I think they would die if they knew how much they cost.

I have only just stopped paying DS1 uni fees for his MBA, and at the same time I was paying DS2 uni fees.

I would like to get them through education, and settled... then I think I can step backwards but I am likely to be at retirement age by the time they achieve this!

  • We took 3 of our GC's (the other one is too young) at the beginning of December and had a great time too. Problem was the temperature, usually about -11 but -30 when we were there.
It was too cold for the little ones and there was a lot of waiting around so hands and feet were too cold. Did all the Husky/Reindeer/Skidoo rides etc but by the time we saw Santa, after a 25 minute Sleigh ride, the kids were too cold to fully appreciate meeting him. Several kids, not just our youngest two, were in tears so it took the shine off it a bit.
Had a great time though and would certainly do it again (not very :money: though!)

We taxied to the runway for the flight home, only to taxi back again due to frozen fuel on the aircraft. After several hours of waiting with very little information we went back into the tiny airport for another long wait. Eventually we were told we would be put up in a hotel for the night, we were taken to a brilliant log cabin in the woods - plenty of room for the 8 in our party - with Sauna, Log fire etc. Unfortunately we didn't fully appreciate it, arriving at 3am!
We got the 'Apprentice' type phone call at 10.30 am to say the bus would be picking us up in 10 minutes!
Back to the airport and an uneventful flight home, luckily on Sunday so no problems with missing work for any of us.
Followed the MSE procedure for compensation claim and it looks as if we may get back nearly what we paid!;)

    ChelseaFred:)

    Prices are :eek::eek:

Think they were having a mini heatwave when my lot were there - it never went below -5 apparently. Which I'm glad about as I too had heard the stories of children crying with the cold when DD's friends went a few weeks earlier, that must have been the same time as you were there.

They also had a delay on the flight home but only 90 mins due to the likelihood that they would encounter Storm B, apparently it was a rough and bumpy landing that used the entire runway.

The only problem they had was they'd been given seats in 4 different places going out, but so had most other families, so there was quite a bit of sorting out and swapping going on amongst most of the passengers - all done amicably and most people ended up happy, so not a big issue.

I found a few more flashed C4rling .

i could not resist ... just do you know, when logged in you have free 4 pack, £1 off or 50p off 4 pack, free 12/15 pack, £2 off 4 pack then free 20 pack in that order (assuming yours are the same). As I had a few spare vouchers from cheersing I have been using them to unlock the larger free packs .

    I have a ridiculous amount of C4rling :o.

I did leave some flashed packs behind :A ... well they were dated end December 2016 :D.

Quote from the Guardian this year:

"In a child’s first year, parents will spend £11,498, rising to £63,224 between one and four. They then get a mild breather, with children between 5 and 17 costing an average of £8,640 a year. Then comes the shock of higher education costs, with the average 18 to 21-year-old costing their parents £17,815 a year."

This a valuable lesson to those that buy rakes and rakes of stuff with little prospect of ever using...is not a bargain if you are not gonna use it....no matter how little it cost...best to leave it on the shelf for some one who will make use of it ;)
