Hope you found what you were shopping for on Boxing Day PD.I always find it the most difficult thing to shop for.

Went to SD after work - turns out mine does not have a household department, but I bought one large Smarties tube @ 49p
Went to MSFood, yellow stickers everywhere in fridges, but bought 0.
Co-op bread and eggs, about 1.50.
Tissues 1.99 the other day
Butter Xmas Eve 1.50
So total 6-day spend = £5.48 :money:
Not worked out how tight I am yet...“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -
During the student years when we went up to see eldest child and we went anywhere we tended to pay for everything - this was often a war of nerves as I would want to go to places to eat or drink where I could use vouchers and discount offers and cheap and cheerful did not bother me, eldest child would die of shame.
Now when we go up we still pay for meals out but she is careful to choose places with set priced menus that wont have me hyper ventilating. She will now tolerate me using vouchers and offers to pacify me.
I let eldest child foot the bar bills though as I will usually have just lime and soda
The tables are tuned now though as eldest child and BF both work in London and their salaries are vast so we are now the poor relations (and if OH ever retires, even more so)
So in theory its them that should now be treating us when we go out“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

I did and then some. I've been sneaking off from work everyday too. Oxford Street is a 25 minute walk from work, so raided all the M&Ss and Lush too :rotfl:'I solemnly swear that I am up to no good'0 -
Also had the phone cut off for a while for going over my additional charges limit - for ringing TalkTalk on one of their own free 0870 numbers.
Regulation 41 requires an 01, 02, 03 or 080 number for after-sales enquiries and issues, and bans the use of premium rate 084, 087 or 09 numbers. In cases of non-compliance, the regulations give callers the right to a refund of any excess call costs incurred.

:jGood for you. I do miss working in London sometimes. Not often. But sometimes.“Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while you could miss it.” ~ Ferris Bueller0 -

Does the theory work?
I think DS1 has once been to the bar, he was sweating! OH tends to give them £20 to go to the bar....but I realised that he never gets change.
At least DS1 is buying most of his own clothes.... the other two don't know how to shop for clothes, or to have their hair cut in a barbers.
Whilst DS3 is much more independent.... but board and lodging is still a fictional topic! I have just had words with him about bringing a lady home for some hows your father when we don't know her name, and he has no intention of entering into a relationship with her.... the house is not a knocking shop! He has retreated to his room!100 -
Good morning, good afternoon and good evening locarr, just incase I miss you later. Hope you've had a great Christmas with the family xxThese were so old mhoc they were unusable ..even for the food bank
The art is to work out how many boxes you normally use in say 9 months or 1 year and only buy that amount, then no waste. Such a shame after you'd saved by buying them then wasted. Good luck with KonMarieGood morning.
Don't forget:

I realised last night what everyone was on about and forget to say that I'd had an email and replied the following day.
I got a response back, to say that they'd noticed I'd won twice in one day, therefore I wouldn't get the £10 for that win  I'm sure I only played once on phone and once on iPad a day.
Oh well, I've still got £50 in my Amazon accountThere's no place like home
Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

I feel that way too.
DD earns 6 x what I do, and when she was married so did her OH, so that was 12 x.

MKS, so sorry to hear of the tough times you've had. I must have missed you're post, sorry. That's the trouble with being so far behind, I end up missing people, I haven't skipped though, not yet.
My thoughts and love are with you MKS and hope that the Elite around you send enough comforting support xxThere's no place like home
