Ever since the 5p carrier bag charge.I've been finding a lot of old ones.People tend to empty their bags out before they go shopping.

    Afternoon all!

Feeling a bit stressed with all the house mess and junk and never-ending dust today. I just want to have a nice festive lead up to Christmas with a house that I don't have to feel embarrassed about having people to stay over in, but DH wants each thing he does to be perfect, so it's taking forever. He has now decided to change the pipework connecting the radiators in our room and the spare room. It'll look so much better when it's done, but it's a big job, and so much hassle in the meantime, and it'll delay the other parts of the project even more. His favourite phrase is 'it'll be fine', which is driving me up the wall!

    Aaaand breathe!!! :o

I have 2 requests for assistance if I may. I've ordered a turkey but now I'm panicking it's going to be huge. The butcher reckoned I needed a 14lb-er, for 5 people on the day and some leftovers, but I'm not convinced. Does anyone have a good way of working it out?

Also, I'm looking for some snowy-effect baubles, or red and white, to complete my silver and red scandi-style tree. If anyone spots any for a reasonable price, please shout :)

I go with 1.5-2lbs per person. So you would need 7.5-10lbs.

How much leftovers was your butcher factoring in?!?

    We've got a 3.8kg/9lb turkey for 4 adults and 2 kids.

Anyone else had an email from Ts with 500 extra CC points if you buy anything from Ts Direct?
50p measuring jug is good ;)

I saw that on hukd but it doesn't work on any of our accounts :(

I said to him it would be 5 people and then leftovers but thinking about it, the leftovers will only be for me and DH, maybe he was counting leftovers for all 5? I might reduce it to 11-12lbs, as DH is paranoid we won't have enough, but that will save a good chunk of money and freezer space, thanks :D

    afternoon all

Just back from Mr Ts where I got my free COS and Q soups - I just got the tomato and basil version, just shows up as tomato soup on the receipt so fingers crossed they are accepted.

I then put my recs through shopprize and OH is just below the amount needed to withdraw - my own fault as the phone was going flat the other day so it went on charge and by the time I remember it was too late to do that days uploads, so technically a day behind :(
Still another £5 in amazon credit will be useful as I did all of my orders this week and I have not dared look at how little is left in the coffers :)
