You seem to eat a lot of apple pie....I think your addicted :D

Wonder if TM burnt her cake again by not paying attention :D:p

Phew........ it was still whirring away when I got back but all stacked nicely for some nice star trails :D

    So it worked then :D
I've often thought of getting one, mainly to increase freezer space. Do you think they are worth it, please?

I used to use mine for sealing things like meat, saves freezer burn, as to whether it saves freezer space, I suppose if you unbox everything then yes it would. As to whether it is worth it, the plastic "bags" for it are normally expensive, though I have heard tell that you can use it on normal plastic bags, I would imagine they would have to be thickish though.

Well, the kangaroo was interesting, like a stronger version of pork really.

That's what we did, the kids presents were from car boot sales for a few years, they never knew the difference.

What worries me is that I saw the price tag on a rucksack that my DS's fiancee had bought for my granddaughter, not even a present. £32 :eek::eek:

They say they are broke but they don't know what the word means, they think nothing of going to Starbucks regularly and buying things like that for the kids, I would never spend that much on a rucksack for me, let alone for a 2 year old  In fact the last 4 rucksacks I have had (1 in use by me, 1 for OH and 2 spare) have been freebies from Screwfix Live :D

It worries me too that there is nothing left to be 'special' for Christmas or Birthdays no matter how well off or otherwise families are. Slippers and dressing gowns were a Christmas thing... you were very lucky if you got a bike for Christmas 3 years after you asked for one.
Advent calendars have become a present in themselves..

Saying that, we have an advent calendar, 24 tiny pieces of c@rp chocolate, free from, would you believe, Screwfix!!

I agree. If 1 in 10 people are actually not in need/homeless but depriving the genuine from getting help then on their heads be it.

I think socks must be useful. Can't be anything worse than walking around in wet socks with no spares or anywhere to dry them.
Yep, I agree, socks will be useful, our local 'People's kitchen' is always on the lookout for anything to keep people warm.

Sorry that you are confined to your bed Aj.

    Don't go over doing it.
My sister is having an operation on her spine tomorrow.
She has had so much pain with her back. This is the last resort for her.We are hoping it will relieve some of her pain and get her off the painkillers

Seeing how much it has affected her gives me some indication what you are going through.

    Take care.

Thanks sal, best wishes and fingers crossed for your sister tomorrow, hope it all goes well for her.

I had an operation on my back years ago, mind you back then they didn't have such modern technology as they have now. It's lasted me 25 years so not too bad I suppose.

bubbs, yes please a small piece of cake would go down well with my coffee.

I was treated today to a mug of Marley Coffee, probably bought in Mr W. DS4 and GF paid a visit to the store yesterday. He text me to say where he had been and they were on the way home. Thank you DS4 had I known I could have given him a list to do a pyo shop grrrr
I enjoyed the coffee, but didn't get a spoonful even if his Banana and Bacon trifle from Heston
There's no place like home :)

Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.
