Perfect!
Saturday -We got eldest son into the loft on Saturday morning in search of the Christmas card boxes and the table decorations. Then he went into town to see a mate and to get his hair cut. We went to drop some MOCs off with my couponing friend. Then we came back and I made the stuffing balls and pigs-in-blankets and wrapped more presents for eldest son who was making a hack of it. Then GF arrived back in time for dinner and they set the Christmas table between them. Dinner was perfect, OH was chief chef, nothing got burnt and no body swore at anyoneand it went exactly to schedule. I did meringue nests with raspberries and cream for pud Then we watched Michael McIntyre - GF and eldest son trying to figure out what sort of madness was going on :rotfl: Then we played cards and a lot of wine and gin and tonics were drunk
Sun day - GF and eldest son went for a 3 mile jog around the block at minus 3, came back showered and then OH made everyone bacon rolls - part bakes from Morrisons and Aldi dry cured bacon cooked in the microwave. Then we went to the local RSPCA Christmas fayre at the local cattery and cooed at all of the little black kittens. Then we went to get a few bits and pieces from the local farm shop and then came home to coffee and Mr Kipling mince pies.
GF managed to secrete her large parcel wrapped in black bin bags behind the seats. Eldest son squeezed his huge parcel in the back of the car alongside the suitcase, rucksac and shopping bags.
Then they set off for home again.
OH went to the kitchen to get his car keys and found that eldest son had left his house keys behind  So he rang him and fortunately they had only got to the A500, not as far as the motorway so they had to turn back to come home again for the keys. Eldest son went back to the car and I saw GF giving him the 3rd degree and making him empty his jacket pockets out so she could see for herself he had got his wallet, warrant card and other essentials - he does make a habit of this :rotfl:
So now we have a quiet house again and in 3 weeks we do it all again with eldest child (but not her BF as he goes home to his parents - yes its odd but they both prefer their own homes at Christmas)
Sounds like a near perfect Christmas:) ...apart from the keys0 -

Haven't read back yet, I see DM was bemoaning the fact he hadn't scanned his maccy d? I don't understand what that is about, something I've missed eh? xx
I'll save you having to searchhampydoodums wrote: »Just won a £10 Amazon GC, thanks to 10 Ways.
Have taken the following straight from 10 ways FB page. I've saved the photo you need to scan with the Blippar app. I've loaded the app on 4 devices and won once tonight on DH's iPad, you can enter once a day. I believe you should be going into a Maccy D's and scanning instore but this photo worked perfectly for me, although a bit grainy
"Use blippar (app) on this image and potentially win a £10 Amazon Voucher. It's an in-store McDonalds promotion but works with a photo as well so can be done remotely (ideal for those of us who are too lazy to go in-store). You will need a phone/tablet (with the app) + a screen to view the image. Thanks to Anon"

I know this will likely have been asked before, sorry.
In T, with the £5 off £30 Lego voucher, do we think we can spend £30 before the 3 for 2 kicks in or after? If yes, 3 £10 ish sets for £15 this weekend?
Is my understanding correct?
Many thanks
Anon
Answered my own question and tested today on scan and save - 3 x £10 Lego sets for around £15 after £5 off £30 voucher and 3 for 2 offer .
342 offer ends tomorrow, Lego voucher instore only until 5/1 (T Christimas mag).

hornetgirl wrote: »I've been pondering on the plight of homeless people ever since going to the Streetcat event last week and have continued to fret after reading what TM wrote about her experience in Leeds.
During the interview James Bowen was asked about the best way to help homeless people - was it by donating to a charity like Shelter, giving money direct etc. His reply was that it wasn't for him to say as people should make their own decision. Then he added, almost inaudibly "but something to eat is always welcome."
Do Boots still do the O2 meal deal on a Monday? It would be the easiest thing in the world to get this and pass it on to someone who needs it more.
Could you also please repost the details of the Homeless Period charity TM. A womble or two would cover the cost of something to go in a little parcel
A few weeks ago I sat outside a coffee shop in Durham, having a coffee and a 'fag'
As a 'tidy' smoker I looked for an ashtray which lead me into conversation with the gentleman next to me.. he talked about politics and then tried to give me a pastry, 'still in the bag' 'cos his family had given it to him' .. 10 mins later I walked up the street and there he was, homeless(?) begging(?) in a shop doorway. I do believe in helping people who are homeless etc, but things like this make me question what to do.0
