My good intentions just weren't good enough. I shouldn't let myself be easily swayed :o

My hedgehog houses arrived yesterday. I've got 2 lovely, large sturdy boxes. Now who was looking for boxes, that's the thing :rotfl:

If anyone lives at M32 9NA and is registered with FPL, there's £600 waiting for you...

Not me, which reminds me, I haven't been to check mine today. Twice a day I'm in there :rotfl: :rotfl:

Can I just be a Grumpy Old Woman for a moment?

I have tried to do nice things all day.......

I have driven DD to work then to a course so she doesn't have to rely on her bike. I have driven DS2 to a stylish barbers, waited, and driven him home, via McD's. I have met DH in town to buy Aftershave at Boots (1000points and £5 off). I am fed up driving!!!!!!

I also made the mistake of checking my work email. Very cross about something which will have to wait until next week to sort out. I 'M sure the woman who has sent me the email and copied in a parent and the local authority, will not give it another thought, but I will worry all weekend now. ☹️ Why are people so thoughtless to the point of being vindictive?

I am starting to sound like my Mother....... When my Dad left, she kept saying ' I don't know why, I was nice' ......I feel a bit the same at the moment. :o:( sigh

Thank you for listening. Back out to meet DH to see Kenneth Branagh in the Entertainer at the Odeon. I hope it's not too depressing, it might finish me off!!!!! :rotfl:

It seems I've lost a watch today  I haven't been out, not even to the car. I find it so frustrating as I keep looking at the time. I have realised that it's a habit I've got, looking at my watch. Half the time I look I don't register what the time is :o

It is now 1 hair past the freckle

Off to have my tea :D

Well productive morning so far, have finally applied for the married tax allowance.

Hopefully a lump sum for xmas, as the cheque will arrive in Mr TS's name I hope I get a nice pressie. :D

And then while I was looking out the NI details I found a letter from 2012, confirming as I thought that I had 29 years qualifiying NICs. And I can top up for just over £600 for the year 2010/11 by April 2017, will have to decide whether I think this is good value I guess. I have phoned and the letter is still valid.

I was so stupid not to have claimed carer's credit while looking after my mum, please someone else don't make the same mistake. Even if you are not getting carer's allowance you can claim credits backdating up to a year even if sadly the cared for person has passed away... I was under the impression at the time I had to be getting carer's allowance but that's not the case. :o

I think this is the origin of todays grumpiness because i went and had a look yesterday at the direct.gov pension forecast page and its grim reading

OH has a complete work record, he just has to drag his carcass back and forth to the coal face for years and he gets a complete state pension.

Mine is all over the place as I imagine most womens work records are. Some years are incomplete but they are so many decades in the past its difficult to figure out why. They say refer to your end of the year P60s which is not helpful if its years ago and the places you have worked for have long gone.
One year that is not complete is the year eldest child was born and i know I worked up until a few weeks before she was born and I got fill maternity pay but I don't know what the benefit was called back then.

Also this family responsibilities thing which gave you full NI, you used to get it until the September after your youngest turned 19 if they were in full time education but it seems to have stopped a year short.

I need to write to them especially as I still have the letter I got a few years back saying i had enough contributions for a full state pension

So my estimate is about £20 a week short. It says I can pay for up to 6 years of contributions but each year seems to cost over £600
So only if I lived until i was over 80 would This make a difference

I posted about this about three months ago as OH is in the same boat and they wanted several thousand to make up the £20 a week shortfall.
Given his health is not so grand at the mo it would be false economy for us as we are focusing on paying off any debts/mortgage and then after that a little downsizing to make things even better.
Just check they have enough home responsibilities on your account and if that is right it might not be worth the extra ...depends on your point of view I suppose - happy headaches lol xxx
