rhosynbach wrote: »Anyone know anything about zero hour contracts. Pleas . Ds 3 done 200 hours in a month and they have not paid him supervisor says it's a month in hand but that's a lot of money to not have for him and he may not do hardly any hours this month. So it seems they got him to work as much as possible as they knew they where not paying him. No one mentioned it until after he asked dies not seem right thanks xxx
Should be set out in his contract when he will be paid, broadly it should be the same as everyone else but subject to a cut off date to allow processing of time sheets. So it may be that all work up to the 20th of each month is paid at the end of the month.
The only difference between a zero hours contract and any other is that there is no guarantee of any work.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I was only thinking tonight when I put the dishwash tablet in the dispenser that I wished they still did the powder. I'll keep a look out now as well...
Must say I really miss the finish automatic dispenser, I would love to find old stock but sadly they have been discontinued.
Loved these dispensers, coupon in the paper/online for £10 to try them and they were always on a half price offer.0 -

cant even call them to claim, as i also got 2 carrots and 2 onions lol
how can i say i actually got 9 different items.
I posted last week that I missed out on an apg with the quorn due to the mushroom showing, savvy also mentioned of other items not showing, broccoli being one (if I remember rightly)0 -
Not sure if this has already been posted. This is a steal at this price.

I bought this about 4 years ago when DD1 came home from uni and know I paid quite a bit more when on offer then, you do need to wax it as it is unfinished but it is solid pine except the drawer bottoms. But looks quite good when waxed and is pretty sturdy.
Oh and would be good to store baby clothes in QoC.
Just noticed the dressing table is heavily discounted too. I would say a bargain at the price but it does not take a lot of abuse. At the time when DD1 came back home I needed something the girls could share with set drawers each side and it was all we could afford although not as cheap as this.

The downside is the top marks easily because again you wax yourself it is not particularly hardwearing and ours has few make up marks and scratches. But I guess for the money you could buy a varnish or even paint it for a better finish. Both dressing stable and stool are sturdy enough. It is pretty deep so would make a good desk rather than dressing table, and for info drawers are not as deep as the top.0 -
He needs to try and find a flight to other ports on route. Doubt the airline will be much help at the airport. Consider other airlines and other airports.
We love a challenge. Where does the cruise go next and what part of the country is he based?
I wish I had known sooner, the cruise has ended now, felt really sorry for him as he is on his own, plus has special needs. He does really well to travel on his own, he was in Tunisia when the tragedy happened and had to cut his holiday short to fly back, but was one of the lucky ones I suppose.
Thanks for confirming, as he wondered about compensation, I said I would look into it but was not sure where to start.
Thanks for replies.curl girl with a space - even though there is no space in my cupboard!!!0 -

I loved them too, I did find some in a 99p shop a couple of years back and bought loads.
Have just finished using them they were great.
I did ring Finish customer service but they said they were discontinued, a great product, discontinued way before its time.curl girl with a space - even though there is no space in my cupboard!!!0 -

If anyone finds dishwasher powder, as in loose powder not tablets, at a reasonable price please let me know. Tablets clog up the drains and I don't need the 3in1, 5in1 or whatever else nonsense is in the tablets. Just want the old fashioned powder. Tesco used to do own brand and then did daisy brand (cheap). Now they only have Finish 1kg which is really expensive. Checked Morrisons and they are the same.
Finish powder is £3 in Tesco. But you do get 2 cinema tickets if you get 30 -
