I got some instore yesterday but the SA was NOT happy about it and asked an SV to authorise the sale....which she did
I got 3 in store today, had to ask if they had them, lovely SA went to the store room and brought me out the 3 I asked for (I felt it necessary to make up a story about a girls weekend away!)
Like you auu the SA on the till was very unhappy about it - I did say it was advertised as such on their website. She went on and on and on - I went out of the shop as quickly as I could!!
  • I thought I might join in frugal October but is eating out excluded because it's Dd birthday so we're out tonight, Chinese at their house on Tuesday night and then out again next Friday. If they could be excluded I'll join in.
Now I'm thinking about it I might have failed already as we passed a ff today so popped in and stocked up on milk although I see that's now crept up to £1.60 for two, still a saving on the supermarket milk. We then went to !!!!!! because dh wanted a dab radio for work, so I couldn't let him spend £20 when I had a £6 off £60 so we spent £40 on beer.
Maybe I could start tomorrow or maybe I should do November, what do you think?

Makes me smile when the staff take it upon themselves to argue with their company's pricing policy - and especially with the instore computerised tills.

    They really really shouldn't... :rotfl:

Think you should start as of now...
exclude the eating out - that could be classed as entertainment! :rotfl:
For me the whole idea is to think about what you are spending your money on and cutting costs when you can.
We could probably last for 2 months without spending anything, (any longer then we may contract scurvy from lack of fresh fruit and veg) but then it would cost a fortune to restock!
Had a bit of a result as DH aka grumpy old git, went to the pub last night and found that he had won a raffle - so now we have a bottle of Jim Beam, 2 bottles of real ale (and a glass) a box of Elizabeth Shaw mints and a Toon army (:j) t shirt.
Unfortunately while I was out the above mentioned grumpy .. decided to try the JB and the chocs ... I had already 'mentally' decide who was getting these for Christmas!

in my head I am about the age I was when I met OH - I think there is some significance in that but I cant figure out what.

The other weekend when we were up north with eldest child and her BF the conversation turned to discussing eldest son and his GF and I was saying how mature, level headed and matter of a fact GF was and that it was very easy to forget how much younger than us she was ie all of us being a group of late twenty somethings :rotfl:
They all thought that was highly amusing but in my head I don't feel any older than them, just a lot more world weary and bedraggled :D
I know just how you feel mhoc.
