My goodness it has come over as black as Newgate's Knocker ...got a feeling we are in for a horrendous bit of weather :eek::eek:the heavens have opened now ...no outdoor activities for Nannylala today..
Just had torrential downpour here, Nanny, had to put heating on, definitely not used to this sort of thing after our balmy September. Brr. But tomorrow looks better.“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -
OK...So an update on the sol vouchers and the free burger meal....
Initially neither voucher would scan but the manager of the sizzling put them through manually and asked what soft drink we would like too...
so no real problem getting 2 burger meals and 2 pepsi's worth
£7.69 each
...and as yet today I've not spent any money.
Cinema wasn't bad either...I Daniel Blake....pretty true to life film.
Well done. I have spent £1 today on a pack of 4 Galaxy Ripples. Thought I'd best get some essentials in...:D“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -

I confess to buying a 4 pack of crunchie's yesterday for that very same reason...although in fairness I probably prefer ripples, can I swap you one?
Although on the way home we did call into waites for free coffee and a browse around the reduced cabinets ...but it was all too expensive....and then the same at A...where I wombled a few receipts to check later
I'm not even convinced that tomorrow will be a spending day...we've got enough in for breakfast and some soup and paul's bread will probably do tea....so the next spend is likely to be Monday.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend0 -

Made me :rotfl: I still have Mars Bars from Ts RTC quite while back if I want a chocolate fix, don't seem to fancy them as much nowadays though as think overloaded with 1p chocs for couple of years.
I did fancy chips with my waities ham but went for a packet of ready salted crisps instead. :money:
Had to pay £1 to park to collect my Debs order but got the £5 voucher.
Friend doing an 18 pub crawl for their birthday so we joined them at the second pub for one drink earlier, just under fiver for pint and a half of coke...I should have checked if a sizzling pub was on their itinerary. :rotfl:
In other news I fell out the back door late last night, no alcohol was involved.Mr TS has been out there this afternoon making the wooden ramp safer he had put in front of the door it tilted over to one side and had me straight off. Managed to get away with one grazed knee but have done something to side of my foot limping around at moment but no swelling or bruise yet.

Probably a good idea that I didn't give Mr TS's voucher for DD3 to use with hers while out today she would not have the stamina if it didn't scan.0 -
Snap glad you had a good holiday, we had that happen last year having to get a taxi to the airport, ours cost a lot more though :eek:0

All I've bought today is a cauliflower and a tiny piece of ginger for tonight's curry. Tomorrow's lunch is roast lamb, which I already had in the freezer and the leftovers will do for shepherds pie on Monday. Not sure about tomorrow's tea but Paul's bread will probably feature. Wonder if it will still be ok for Monday lunches or be like a brick by then.
DH bought me a large bar of Galaxy on Monday as it was our wedding anniversary, so that is scratching the chocolate itch for now, although I did notice that he too snuck a four pack of Crunchies into the house yesterday.0 -
LEJC I wonder if it is because they are charging for a meal deal that vouchers are not working. The till may automatically adjust if bought with drinks. Wonder if would work if only a burger bought no drinks, will have to check with scamps what the state of play was at the pub that worked for him...0
