Good afternoon ..been in bed most of the day as really feeling rough but felt the need for a hot drink and a bite to eat as been taking tablets every 4 hours:eek:It was a long day for me yesterday as the funeral was in Brighton so a long way to travel before the day even began ...I can honestly say I have never been to a funeral like this one..my friends DH was an atheist so she did not think it appropriate to have Hymns or Prayers and instead we had lots of his favourite music played and his Daughter and Grandsons talking so fondly about him..the lady who conducted the service was so good and I complimented her on this as I really have never felt so uplifted after attending such a sad occasion...:Ashe appreciated this feed back as she said it helps her for the future....we then proceeded to bring all of the 10 floral tributes home to my friends garden instead of leaving them behind to end up on the compost tip :eek:something a lot of folks don't like to do but she did0

Oh Nanny...you're still no better....please take it steady and hopefully plenty of rest will have you well again soon.
I've been to a couple of celebrant services, and agree that they are heart warming and bring out the best in a funeral in a nice way.
I remember years ago after my nan died my mum requested that flowers should not be wreaths but bunches that could then be taken to the nursing home for the residents to enjoy,I remember we filled the place with flowers....this was before donations in lieu of flowers became popular.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Hello Nanny
Sorry you are feeling unwell again:( hope you feel better soon x
We never had Hymns at my BIL's funeral as he was a pagan, we had adagio for strings going in, we had whole of the moon instead of a hymn and Adele going out , and my sister bought the flowers home to there garden xSealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance:0 -

We will indeed lol Did look up train prices to Newcastle but was £60 odd with discount  unless we can get our hands on tickets from this latest offer but don't know how we can get them unless they are in papers where your girls are. Would only be £10 midweek then.
Are you sure your station is listed? Seem strange that it would be but none of the local rags have the coupon....... if push comes to shove i'm sure I can stick some coupons in an envelope
I'm taking part in this one, thanks dave
I've invited myself and going to spend the weekend at TM's:D making sure her B&B service is up to scratch and that she offers eggs four ways
:D
I'll let you know my arrival date..............Something unexpected happened which made me smile and still continues to make me smile.
