I had even tried last weeks link a minute before email cane through which was showing 26th still yesterday but just brought up an error so thought it might be imminent. Went back to emails and it had just come through a lot earlier than last week too.

I got a text from DS who tells me he has been monitoring his email all day...his email came through at 14.33 and did manage to book a table for Monday....he just needs to decide which of his 6 other pod mates he should take.

He's really embracing this money saving as a student...apparently 5pm is reduction time in his local small T and tonight thanks to the sol link I sent earlier in the week they are all going out for their freebie.

He hasn't been well this week and its put a bit of a downer on me, I think what with the move and freshers last week he's suddenly realised that he can't burn the candle at both ends...yesterday he phoned and I think we both ended up in tears,I could hardly hear him as his voice is gone,he's really tired and just missing home and it's comforts.
Guess that's uni life and we all just need to adjust.....


Any luck with finding the driving licence Tiny?

Yay really chuffed he got a place. :T

Know how you feel you want to run to them, DD2 is not having good start to this uni year and we are getting calls nearly daily. . Some hour long. :eek: and nothing we can really help out with. It's mostly the lack of decent internet access and to think she moved in aug bank hol and still not sorted! :mad: It's included in the hospital accommodation and the company that deal with it are not on site. Last week the accommodations manager was on holiday so week wasted as engineer couldn't access property and DD2 is miles away on GP placement in the day.

Lots happening with applications for foundation year and elective and result not through yet for her masters and back in a hospital first time in over a year she is stressing about her competence. . She has also had bad wisdom toothache, toe nail fall off. She is totally stressed can hear it in her voice...

Managed a Bella table booking, email pinged in on my way home from work, great timing for me. Never been so I'm looking forward. Wish I knew what I was supposed to be clicking on beforehand as I was hoping to get one for dd & bf aswell but was too slow. They live 3 hours 30 mins away so cannot give them mine lol. Still I'm happy enough with one booking. Thanks op xx

I can totally relate to that Tiny...it seems that it's the little things that are pushing our DS to the limit...apparently he couldn't get the app for the washing machine payments to work,it took 4 hours on Sunday to install presumably because every other new student was trying to load the same thing....and the machines only function via it...gone are the days of coins and cash!!!

all little things that you can't do a thing about but when they are hundreds of miles away what can you do....
I have said that if he's not feeling any better at the weekend we will drive down and at least try and sort out a few of the practical problems that he's having...another one with internet problems and his PC dropping connection.
