my legs are like tree trunks they are so swollen from bites
the mosquito repellent bracelets i have been wearing on both ankles and Avon skin so soft, haven't been any help
Going swimming now whilst sun high in sky :T we walk 10 yards into the sloping pool from room :T

I can totally relate to that Tiny...it seems that it's the little things that are pushing our DS to the limit...apparently he couldn't get the app for the washing machine payments to work,it took 4 hours on Sunday to install presumably because every other new student was trying to load the same thing....and the machines only function via it...gone are the days of coins and cash!!!
all little things that you can't do a thing about but when they are hundreds of miles away what can you do....
I have said that if he's not feeling any better at the weekend we will drive down and at least try and sort out a few of the practical problems that he's having...another one with internet problems and his PC dropping connection.
I think that is the best you can do, sail in like the cavalry and sort out all of the niggly annoying problems - numerous times we have had to do this for all of ours.
Take a cold and flu box - all the bits and pieces for curing the miseries, this will always be appreciated
and he will probably given you a huge list of home comforts to take down as well - things he forgot to take“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
I got a text from DS who tells me he has been monitoring his email all day...his email came through at 14.33 and did manage to book a table for Monday....he just needs to decide which of his 6 other pod mates he should take.
He's really embracing this money saving as a student...apparently 5pm is reduction time in his local small T and tonight thanks to the sol link I sent earlier in the week they are all going out for their freebie.
He hasn't been well this week and its put a bit of a downer on me, I think what with the move and freshers last week he's suddenly realised that he can't burn the candle at both ends...yesterday he phoned and I think we both ended up in tears,I could hardly hear him as his voice is gone,he's really tired and just missing home and it's comforts.
Guess that's uni life and we all just need to adjust.....
Any luck with finding the driving licence Tiny?
it breaks your heart doesn't it
At least he has some grasp of fiscal responsibility, my eldest never got the grasp of it until long after uni.
There was one awful dreadful January she went back to uni after Christmas, having broken up from a bad relationship, very emotional distressed and upset but she had made the decision so she moved to a new flat to share with a nice group.
We got the phone call that she had no money for food so I had to do a Tesco order to be sent to her new flat in including all the basics to fill her food cupboard so she could at least eat.
Then we went up mid February and I took all of the things needed to make pancakes including cooking oil and frying pans, jugs for mixing the batter, weighed out flour and lemons etc and I made pancakes for everyone in the flat in their kitchen - had to send someone to the shop for milk though - that was a really good evening“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
If we have not had Bella emails now is this the point where we give up all hope .....“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0
