Good morning all, cloudy one here, but washing has nearly dried outside overnight. Hoping to finish packing today :D

    That must have been terrifying.

It is also why I always get the RAC membership out of clubcard points. They prioritise lone females too, might be worth considering breakdown cover?

Glad you're home safe anyway, hope the car isn't too expensive to fix

Hope the packing and break away all go well x

    I had breakdown cover !!!

we are with b.card additions + , and RAC were the ones who come out, The RAC man was angry as, as you rightly said lone females should have been priority (well second in priority to invalid, or people needing urgent medication)..
I don't know which was worse..being in the middle of a grand prix, or a horror movie in the dark:eek:
It could have been worse I could have been on the motorway, or even worse broke down in the middle of the Rotherhithe tunnel

At least I am in one piece and at home:)

Im now looking at bus and train times to get down to london:)

    Good morning all...

Rattling round the house on my own today....I've some sorting out of washing and stuff that I want to do,then it's a case of just going through each room and giving it a good tidy and possibly a little de cluttering.
I sort of want to keep myself busy today but not tire myself out.

Hillbern....my goodness what a journey, lets hope you never have a repeat of that
Sue ....I hope you are able to sort something out for your mum...as others have said dont overlook your needs, and dont feel obliged to take on great chunks of care...your job is to enjoy visits to your mum and for her to be able to enjoy your company....its not for you to be rushing round doing chores.
I learnt that lesson quite late on in the process with my mum and if I am totally honest the point where we allowed ourselves to just enjoy being with eachother was the best and sadly final year of her life.

so whos off to BellaI tonight...our table is booked for 6.30.
frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

    2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend

    Morning all :)

How scary for you Hillbern, so glad you're ok.

6:30 Bella Italia for us as well LEJC, see you there lol. DH's birthday on Wednesday so we're going to celebrate that.
  • Hillbern that is disgusting, when my daughter broke down they were with her within the hour, twice she broke down, one they were with her within 30 minutes and the second time just under the hour. She kept flattening her battery, couldn't understand that sitting there for ages with the radio on would do that lol
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

The emails must come out in blocks...I was able to book in the afternoon....it's the first time I have ever been to a BI tasting although been registered with them for a few years.

I remember there were mixed views about what everyone got last year...some were very lucky and even had drinks and large portions...others said it really was sample sizes...guess its just the luck of the draw, but it will be nice to try.

If its happening over the next 4 weeks I hope that they rotate how the emails are sent.or at least the timings so everyone has a fair chance of applying.

whenever any of mine have been home on a visit I find it easier to collect anything they have left behind and return it to their bedrooms so its not hanging around the house and reminding me.
First off I clear any back log of washing and get the stray socks and t shirts back upstairs and then I can shut the bedroom doors for now.
It can take me weeks but then eventually I am ready to go into the bedrooms again but for now the doors stay shut :D

    :)

My weddings - first cost us £25 for registry office & taxi fare to sister's house where we had soup & a roll.
I wore a huge mohair jumper which shed & interfered with my soup :o

Second wedding - again registry office in South Wales. this time lots of guests as Fourp has a huge family - but we had Buffs Club donated as venue & WI did the catering. It was daisy themed as I had purchased from QVC Outlet a divine daisy outfit.
All in - it was under £1000 :D
I was very MSE before I knew about MSE :o
